Using the Altitude and Barometric Pressure Widgets on Your Watch

If you're an avid hiker, you can keep track of your achievements and distance using your watch. The altitude and barometric pressure sensors in your watch can quickly tell you how far you are above sea level and the current atmospheric pressure. In addition to the Alti-Barometer app on your watch, you can set up the Alti-Barometer widget on your Home screen.

Available screens and settings may vary by provider, phone, or watch.

Set Up Altitude-Barometric Widget

From the watch's Home screen, rotate the bezel to the right until you reach the Alti-Barometer widget. Then, touch the Refresh icon to open the altitude sensor and review the app permissions. If you agree, touch NEXT, and then touch GO to calibrate the altitude sensor for the first time. Review the disclosure and if you agree, touch Done. You can recalibrate the altitude sensor at any time by touching the Refresh icon at the bottom of the screen.

Next, rotate the bezel to the right to view the Barometer, and then rotate the bezel again to view Settings. Touch CHANGE to adjust the settings. The following settings are available:

  • Auto refresh: Enable or disable the auto refresh setting.

  • Manual calibration: Manually set Altitude and Sea level pressure.

  • Pressure alerts: Enable or disable the pressure alerts setting.

  • Altitude unit: Choose if altitude should be measured in feet or meters.

  • Pressure unit: Choose if pressure should be measured by hPa, in Hg, or mm Hg.

  • Help: Explanation of Alitmeter, Barometer, and Pressure alerts.

Note: Some watches may require you to add the Alti-Barometer widget on your Home screen. From the Home screen, rotate your bezel to the right to and touch Add widget, and then rotate your bezel to the right and touch Alti-Barometer.
