Charging Your Galaxy Book (Wi-Fi)

Charge the battery before using it for the first time or when it has been unused for an extended period of time.

Use only Samsung-approved chargers, batteries, and cables. Samsung accessories are designed to maximize battery life. Using other accessories may invalidate your warranty and cause damage.

Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the USB cable to the power adapter.

  2. Insert the USB cable into the USB charger/accessory port.

Both ports can be used to charge your Galaxy Book.

  3. Plug the adapter into a wall socket.

  4. After the battery is fully charged, disconnect your Galaxy Book from the charger.

When the battery is fully charged, the Power LED will change color from red to green.

Reducing Battery Consumption

Your device provides various options that helps conserve battery power.

  • When you are not using your Galaxy Book, enable sleep mode by pressing the Power key.

  • Enable Battery saver mode.  Learn more about Battery Saver.

  • Close any unnecessary apps.

  • Deactivate the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions if they are not being used. Learn more about Disabling Wi-Fi.

  • Decrease the screen brightness. Learn more about Adjusting the Brightness.

Battery Charging Tips and Precautions

  • If the battery is completely discharged, the Galaxy Book cannot be turned on immediately after connecting the charger. Let the battery charge for a few minutes before turning on your Galaxy Book.

  • Using a power source other than the adapter, such as a computer, may result in a slower charge.

  • The Galaxy Book can be used while it is charging but it will take longer to fully charge.

  • While charging, the Galaxy Book and the charger may become hot. This is normal and should not affect the Galaxy Book's lifespan or performance. If the battery gets too hot, it may stop charging.

  • If the battery does not charge properly, take your Galaxy Book and charger to the nearest Samsung Service Center.

Battery Saver

You can conserve battery power by limiting the Galaxy Book's functions.

  1. Navigate to Start > Settings > System > Battery.

  2. To enable Battery Saver, select the slider under Battery saver status until next charge.

By default, Battery Saver turns on automatically when the remaining battery life falls below 20 percent. To adjust this setting, drag the adjustment bar to the desired battery life.
