Use the Family Hub App
After completing the setup, it's time to have some fun! The Family Hub mobile app automatically syncs with your Family Hub refrigerator so changes you make while on the go, show up at home.
Using the Family Hub Mobile App
The app is divided into two main portions, apps and the dashboard.
The square icons at the top represent your apps, and the cards below the icons (scroll down to see them all) are the dashboard.
The cards in the dashboard display relevant information from certain apps. To open an app, just touch the applicable icon or card.
This displays the calendar for all user profiles. If one or more profiles have connected a calendar account, they can edit events.
This displays all memos on Family Hub. Memos can be added, edited, or removed. The dashboard card shows the most recent memo. The mobile app does not have access to any voice messages recorded on Family Hub.
This displays the to do lists for all user profiles. To do lists can be added, edited, or removed (although the default to do list for each profile cannot be removed). The dashboard card shows the to do list for the current user.
This displays all whiteboard drawings on Family Hub. Whiteboard drawings can be added, edited, or removed. The dashboard card shows the most recent Whiteboard drawing. The mobile app does not have access to any voice messages recorded on Family Hub.
This displays the image of the inside of the refrigerator and its timestamp. A food list can be edited to indicate which foods are inside the refrigerator and keep track of their expiration dates. The dashboard card shows a portion of the current image.
This opens the external Samsung Connect app on the phone. If the app is not installed it will link to the app store. Samsung Connect can connect to the Family Hub refrigerator and be used to remotely monitor the temperatures of the refrigerator and adjust ice making settings.
This displays all shopping lists for all user profiles. Shopping lists can be added, edited, or removed (although the default shopping list for each profile cannot be removed). The dashboard card shows the shopping list for the current user.
This opens an external app for Allrecipes on the phone. If the app is not installed it will link to the app store. Allrecipes is a recipe finding app.
Adjusting Settings in the Family Hub Mobile app
A quick rundown of the app's Settings menu:
Account: Shows the Samsung account currently in use.
Notifications: Enable or disable notifications on the mobile device from the Family Hub mobile app.
Connected Services: Link the Family Hub user profile with a Google or Microsoft 365 calendar account for calendar data, or Instagram or Facebook for pictures.
Show on Dashboard: On the main screen, enable or disable which apps have cards in the dashboard.
