Send messages on your Samsung smart watch
With your Samsung smart watch, it's never been easier to talk while you walk. You can quickly view incoming messages and send replies without even taking out your phone. You can also send replies using Quick messages, or when you decline incoming calls.
Note: Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version, and model.
Reply to a message
If you want to take a break from your jog and send a quick message to a friend, you can do that easily on your watch.
Just navigate to and tap the message you want to reply to. Then, swipe to and tap a Quick message as a response.
Or, if you prefer to create your own response, there are many methods to choose from. Just swipe down to see more options.
Here are the different available options:
Microphone: Speak into your watch, and then tap SEND.
Emoji: Select an emoji as your response.
Text: Write letters on the watch face. Written letters will be converted into text.
Edit responses: Create or edit Quick messages by writing letters on the watch face. Just like with text input, written letters will be converted into text.
Doodle: Write letters on the watch face. Written letters will be sent as an image.
Additionally, with a Galaxy Watch Active2 you can reply to messages remotely over Wi-Fi in the event the Bluetooth connection between your phone and the watch disconnects.
To use this feature, you must first turn on Remote connection in the Galaxy Wearable app while your phone is connected to the Galaxy Watch Active2 through Bluetooth. Then, navigate to and open Settings on your phone, and then search for and select Call & text on other devices. Now, turn on the feature by tapping the switch. The connection will automatically occur remotely with your Samsung account and the Galaxy Watch Active2 will appear in the list of Registered devices.
Set up Quick Messages
Are you always getting texts or calls while you’re out walking your dog? Let your contacts know that you’ll get back to them soon by setting up Quick Messages on your watch.
On your watch, either create a new message or tap an existing message. Then, swipe to and tap Edit responses.
To create a new Quick message, tap Create, create a message, and then tap Done.
To edit an existing Quick message, tap the message, make the desired changes, and then tap Done.
Call decline messages
Sometimes, you receive a phone call at the worst possible time and can't pick up. With your watch, you can let them know you're busy with a quick swipe.
When receiving a call on your watch, swipe up from the bottom of the watch face. Several replies, such as "I'm working out," will appear. Tap the message you would like to decline the call with.
