Set Up and Connect the ADT Water Leak Detector

Water Leak Detector
Don’t you hate it when you leave town for a vacation and while you’re gone your house sprouts a leak? Well, you won’t have to come home to a flood when you set up your ADT Water Leak Detector. Receive an alert as soon as a leak happens.
Before we start, just a few things to keep in mind:
• Make sure that your ADT Security Hub is disarmed before connecting a new device.
• Make sure that you only set up one new device at a time.
• Do not remove the tab until you are ready to set up the detector.
• Make sure you are within 15 feet of your ADT Security Hub during the setup.
Use the SmartThings app on your phone to select My Home, and then touch Add a Thing.
Remove the detector cover on the water leak detector by rotating it counterclockwise and then removing the tab marked Pull This Tab.
Note: The red LED will blink slowly and then turn solid for 3 seconds.
Use the SmartThings app and follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
Tips for Placement:
Place the ADT Water Leak Detector in areas of your home that are at risk of a water leak, such as bathrooms, basement, clogged drains, or old pipes.
Make sure to place the ADT Water Leak Detector so that:
If a pool of water forms below the detector, moisture will touch all the metal contacts at the bottom of the detector to trigger an alert.
If water drips from above the detector, water will touch both metal contacts at the top of the detector to trigger an alert.
