Use the SmartThings Home Screen

With the Home Screen in SmartThings, monitoring and managing your devices is easier than ever. Once you open the SmartThings app, you'll have everything you need right at your fingertips. You can view connected devices, scenes, shortcuts, and other options. Keep reading to learn how to use the Home Screen in the SmartThings app.

Use the Home Screen

The SmartThings Home Screen is basically your starting point for everything in the SmartThings app. To make things easier, the Home Screen is Location specific. That means it only displays the devices in the Location you selected, like the Living Room. From the Home Screen, you can also add and control devices in the selected Location.

Choose a Location for the Dashboard

Maybe you use the devices in your bedroom the most. No worries, you can set the Bedroom as your Location on the Dashboard and get instant access to it.

On your phone, navigate to and open SmartThings. Touch Menu (the 3 lines on the left side), and then touch the drop-down arrow next to Home. Choose your desired Location; now the devices in that Location will appear on the Home Screen. Just touch the device's name to use it or manage its settings.

Reorder the Home Screen

If you have multiple Rooms in a Location, your Home Screen can get a little cluttered. No worries, you can reorder the Rooms to make everything organized again.

On your Home screen, touch More Options and then touch Reorder. Drag and drop your Rooms until they're in your preferred order. When you are done, touch Save.

Note: The Reorder option will not appear unless you have added more than one Room to the selected Location.
