Frequently asked questions about Samsung Pay gift cards for friends
You can buy digital gift cards in Samsung Pay and send them to friends or family, whether they are Samsung Pay users or not. Likewise, anyone can send you a digital gift card! As easy and fun as it is, you may still have some questions about sending and receiving gift cards in Samsung Pay.
How do I purchase a gift card and send it to a friend?
You can purchase a gift card directly from Samsung Pay and send it to a friend. If your friend is using Samsung Pay, the gift card will be automatically added to your friend's Samsung Pay and display in the GIFT tab. Also, you will both receive an email confirming the gift card purchase.
If you are sending the gift card to a friend who does not use Samsung Pay, your friend will receive an email with a link to redeem the gift card. You will also receive an email confirming the gift card purchase.
How do I know if I've received a gift card from a friend?
You will receive a confirmation email with the gift card's purchase details. Also, if the gift card was sent to your Samsung Pay account, you will receive a notification in the GIFT tab of Samsung Pay. It generally takes only a few minutes between purchasing the gift card and receiving confirmation. Be sure to check your Junk or Spam folder if you do not see the confirmation email in your Inbox.
Important: If you do not receive the gift card within 24 hours, contact Samsung Pay Customer Service at 1-844-SAM-PAYS (726-7297).
Can I reject a gift card sent to me?
You can reject a gift card if you have not added it yet. Open Samsung Pay, tap the Wallet tab, and then tap the GIFT tab. Tap the new gift card notification, and then tap REMOVE to reject it.
What happens to my gift card after I reject it?
If you reject a gift card, you will no longer see it in Samsung Pay. You can keep the confirmation email for your records in case you want to use it later.
Important: All sales are final and the gift card amount cannot be refunded to the sender, nor can the card be transferred to a different Samsung Pay user.
