Everything you need to know about the Samsung Premiere 5

The following is included on The Premiere 5:

Can I use the Touch Stand on a wall?

This function is only available when projecting from a floor or flat, horizontal surface.

Which apps support touch input?

Samsung apps are supported, as well as some third-party apps, such as YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video. Other third-party apps may be supported when using the Floating Menu and D-Pad options.

When using touch input, is there an input delay?

The total latency is about 140 milliseconds. However, when mirroring from a mobile device, the latency is about 270 milliseconds.

What should I do if the touch input does not work?

Touch functionality may not work if there is an obstacle between the Touch Stand’s sensor and the projection surface on the floor, or if the camera lens or IR sensor are dirty. You can remove dust and dirt using a cotton swab or soft cloth. Additionally, make sure to place the projector on a flat, horizontal surface. 

Touch input may not work under the following conditions:

• Under strong light sources such as direct sunlight, halogen light, or incandescent light.
• When placing external light sources (such as candles) close to the projector.
• While wearing accessories or clothing that reflect light.

Is the base of the Touch Stand waterproof?

The base of the Touch Stand is not waterproof.

What do I do if the base of the Touch Stand is blocked?

If the base of the Touch Stand is blocked by an obstacle, the touch input will not work.

A pattern appears every time I turn on the projector. Why is this?

If the Touch Stand is connected when the projector is turned on, the touch area is automatically enabled and calibrated. The projected screen may appear distorted depending on the surrounding environment. An uneven or reflective surface may be caused by dirt or obstacles around the sensor.

The touch input does not work or there are unintended touch operations when the remote control is used with the Touch Stand. Why is this?

If the Touch Stand is connected and an IR signal is present, interference may occur. You can use the Touch Lock feature to prevent interruptions.

If the remote control is disconnected, interference may occur. Point the remote control at the top of the projector and try pairing the remote control again.

What are the USB power input specifications?

• Input: 110 - 240V, 50/60Hz
• Output: 20V, 5A, 100W

A genuine Samsung charger should be used with The Premiere 5, as well as an adapter that supports more than 100W.

Does the projector work if the power cable is plugged into the USB port?

The projector will not work if a power cable is connected to the USB port. This will not damage the projector.

Can I use a portable battery for The Freestyle Projector?

To supply power via an external battery, make sure that the battery supports power delivery and its port has an output of 100W or more.

What are the brightness specifications?

The brightness specification is 560 ISO Lumen.

How long does the lamp last?

The LED lamp has an optical life of about 200,000 hours. After 200,000 hours have passed, the LED brightness will decrease.

Do I need to replace the lamp or lamp parts? If so, how much does it cost?

The optical engine module may need to be replaced over time. Please contact the Samsung Support Center for more information.

Is the projector’s screen bright enough for outdoor use in the daytime?

The screen may look slightly dark depending on the environment’s brightness. You can adjust the screen mode by selecting Clear Screen or by decreasing the screen’s distance from the projector.

Does the Micro HDMI eARC output multi-channel audio?

Yes, multi-channel audio is supported.

Does the USB-C port support data? Can I connect a USB hub to the USB-C ports?

There are two USB-C ports: one port for power, and one port for data. The USB-C data port has an output of 0.5A. You may connect a USB hub using external power.

How does the projector focus?

The sensor detects the distance and drives the motor to adjust the focus.

What is the maximum angle for keystone calibration?

The maximum angle is Up +/-5 degrees, and Left/Right +/-5 degrees. However, the angle may vary depending on the surrounding environment.

Does the projector make noise while operating?

The projector’s noise level when operating is less than 2 8dB. Noise may occur when the fan is enabled during high-altitude mode.

Is it possible to mirror a TV screen to the projector?

TV functionality is supported on Samsung TV models that include mobile device mirroring, such as:

• 2017: Q6FM and later, MU6400 and later, and LS003 (The Frame)
• 2018: Q6FN and later, NU7400 and later, and LS03N (The Frame)
• 2019: Q60R and later, LS03 (The Frame), and LS01R (The Serif)
• 2020: Q70T and later, LS03T (The Frame), LS01T (The Serif), and LS05T (The Sero)
• 2021: Q70A and later, LS03A (The Frame), LS01T (The Serif), and LS05T (The Sero)
• 2022: Q70B and later
• 2023: Q70C and later
• 2024: Q70D and later

Note: The Frame 32-inch model is not supported.

How hot is the projector while operating?

The projector satisfies the UL standard for heat.

What is the refresh rate?

The projector’s refresh rate is 60Hz.

Can Google Cast be used?

Yes, Google Cast is supported.

What are the audio output specifications?

10W (5W x 2) is supported.

Is HDR10 supported?

Yes, HDR10 is supported.

Is AirPlay available?

Yes, AirPlay is supported.

What is the contrast ratio?

A contrast ratio of 100,000:1 and 450,000:1 are both supported.

Can content be played using the USB-C port (with a PC or other similar device)?

Content playback is supported when connecting a USB storage device. However, PC connection is not supported.

What are the HDMI port specifications?

HDMI 1.4 is supported.

How many seconds does it take to perform the automatic keystone and automatic focus functions?

These functions can be completed in about 5 seconds.

Is it possible to change the direction of the screen while viewing?

You can change the direction of the image (for example, up and down or left and right).

What are the minimum and maximum exterior temperatures when using the projector?

32 degrees Fahrenheit and 104 degrees Fahrenheit are the minimum and maximum temperatures.

Is the projector waterproof and dustproof?

The projector does not include waterproof and dustproof ratings.

Which screen should I use with the projector?

A projector-only, Ultra Short Throw screen is recommended.

Is there a risk of heat or burning if the projector is used indoors for a long period of time?

No.

How do I clean the projector’s exterior?

Alcohol-based cleaners are recommended for the rubber parts of the projector. A soft, microfiber cleaning cloth is recommended for the plastic parts of the projector.

Can I use water or detergent when cleaning the projector’s exterior?

No, it is not recommended to apply water or detergent to the projector.

Can the projector be disassembled for cleaning?

No, it is not recommended to do so. If needed, please contact the Samsung Support Center for maintenance.

Will accessories be available for the projector?

Accessories will not be available at this time.
