On your Galaxy Tab S11 or Tab S11 Ultra, Gemini is ready to assist you. Simply activate Gemini, and it will listen to your commands and inquiries, providing quick and accurate solutions to help you efficiently complete tasks and enhance your experience.

Set up Gemini

To set up Gemini as your preferred voice assistant on your Galaxy Tab S11 or Tab S11 Ultra, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings.
    Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open the Quick panel settings, and then tap the Settings (gear) icon. Tap Advanced features, then tap Side button
  2. Configure Digital Assistant.
    Tap Long press, then select Digital assistant. Tap the Settings (gear) icon next to it and choose Google under Recommended AI assistant 
  3. Customize Gemini’s Voice Style.
    Swipe up on the Home screen to access the app drawer, then tap the Gemini app. Next, tap your Google profile icon, then select Settings. Finally, tap Gemini’s voice and choose your preferred voice style.

Now, Gemini is ready to assist you with your commands and inquiries, providing quick and accurate solutions.

Use voice commands with Gemini

To use voice commands with Gemini on your Galaxy Tab S11 or Tab S11 Ultra, follow these steps:

  1. Activate Gemini.
    Press and hold the Power/Side button to activate Gemini.
  2. Give Commands.
    Use your voice or the keyboard to issue commands. For example:“
    • Give me directions to the nearest supermarket and create a shopping list.”
    • “Find two new vegetable recipes with ingredients and instructions, and save everything as a note.”
  3. Continue Interacting.
    • Ask follow-up questions or give additional commands related to your phone’s apps. 
    • Gemini will utilize your apps to provide answers and relevant content.

Gemini is designed to assist you efficiently, leveraging your device’s capabilities to deliver quick and accurate solutions.

Complete multi-step tasks across apps 

Cross app action with Gemini lets you do things like send a message and schedule a meeting at the same time, without having to switch between different apps. To use the Cross app action on your Galaxy Tab S11 or Tab S11 Ultra, follow these steps:

  1. Activate Gemini. 
    Press and hold the Power/Side button to activate Gemini.
  2. Voice Input. 
    Use the keyboard or your voice to issue commands. For example:
    • “Find a nearby Thai restaurant with outdoor seating and a casual dress code, and text the information to Mom.”
    • “Look up the next ten Giants football games and add them to my calendar.” 
  3. Permissions and Actions.
    Allow necessary permissions or select options on the screen, such as Send when sending a message.
  4. Video Integration.
    • While watching a video, press and hold the Power/Side button, then tap Ask about video.
    • Issue commands like, “Make a list of the locations mentioned in this video and save it as a note.” 
    • Gemini will extract relevant information and save it in Samsung Notes.

Gemini seamlessly integrates across apps like Google Maps, Samsung Messages, YouTube, and Samsung Notes, enhancing your device experience with efficient multi-app control.

Live chatting with Gemini

Gemini Live enables natural voice conversations with AI, allowing you to interrupt or continue the discussion with additional questions and receive clear, spoken answers. The AI keeps track of the conversation, providing help without requiring manual input. To use Live chatting with Gemini on your Galaxy Tab S11 or Tab S11 Ultra, follow these steps:

  1. Activate Gemini.
    Press and hold the Power/Side button to activate Gemini.
  2. Start Live Chat.
    Tap the Live icon (three vertical lines with a star) and listen to the introduction. Then, review the Go Live with Gemini information, then swipe and tap OK.
  3. Converse with Gemini.
    Begin discussing any topic of your choice on the Live with Gemini screen. Gemini will provide information, resources, and tips in response to your queries.
  4. Live with Gemini Options. 
    • Video: Tap the Video icon to use your camera for object recognition. Position your device at an object and ask a question; Gemini will provide relevant details.
    • Share Screen: Tap the Share screen icon, select your desired option, and then tap Share screen. To stop sharing, open the Notification panel and tap Stop sharing.
    • Pause: Tap the Pause icon to pause the conversation. Tap the Live icon to resume.      - 
    • Close: Tap the Close icon to exit Live with Gemini.
  5. Continue Chatting.
    • Even if you navigate away, Gemini remains available. Tap Listening…in the top left corner to open the Live with Gemini bar on the Home screen. 
    • Tap the Live icon to continue chatting.
    • Use the Pause icon to place Live with Gemini on hold or the Close icon to exit.

Use Circle to Search with Google

With Circle to Search, you can easily explore additional information about items, objects, or content directly from your desired app. Simply circle or tap the item of interest, and Galaxy AI will provide related search results, such as purchase options, videos, and more.
 

Key features:

  •  Translate the full screen: Translate screen content to your desired language without switching apps.
  • Solve math equations: Circle a math equation to solve it and view step-by-step instructions.
  • QR Code support: Scan and launch QR codes directly from the screen.

Circle to Search with Google

  1. Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open the Quick panel settings, and then tap the Settings (gear) icon.
  2. Tap Display, and then tap Navigation bar.
  3. Turn on the switch next to Circle to Search.
  4. Now, open your desired app and touch and hold the Home button to launch Circle to Search. 
  5. Use your S Pen or finger to circle or tap the item of interest.
  6. Galaxy AI will display related search results. Swipe up to view more details.

Translate the full screen

  1.  Open your desired app and hold the Home button to launch Circle to Search.
  2. Tap the translation icon to translate the screen content to your preferred language.

Format

Your notes can be automatically formatted into bullets or professional meeting notes. 

  1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Notes app, and then select a note. Or, you can tap Create note (the pencil icon) to start a new note.
  2. Tap the Notes assist icon (the three stars) above the keyboard, and then tap Auto format.
    Note: You may need to tap OK on the prompt.
  3. Select Headers and bullets or Meeting notes. The newly formatted text will be displayed.
  4. You can tap the Auto format icon (the arrows with lines) to select a different format style. From here, you can use the following options:
    • Copy: Copy the formatted text to your device's clipboard, so it can be added to another note or app.
    • Replace: Replace the current note with the formatted text. 
    • Add to: Add the formatted text to the current note. After tapping Add to, you can tap either New page before or New note.
Note
  • Samsung Notes will not be able to summarize text that is less than 200 characters.

Summarize

If you recently added a lengthy note to Samsung Notes, you can use the Summarize feature to generate a convenient summary.

  1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Notes app, and then select a note. Or, you can tap Create note (the pencil icon) to start a new note.
  2. Tap the Notes assist icon (the three stars) above the keyboard, and then tap Summarize.
    Note: You may need to tap OK on the prompt.
  3. A summary of your note will be displayed. Tap the Settings icon (the three lines) to change the summary style. You can select Standard or Detailed. Then, tap Done. From here, you can use the following options:
    • Copy: Copy the summary to your device's clipboard, so it can be added to another note or app.
    • Replace: Replace the current note with the summary.
    • Add to: Add the summary to the current note. After tapping Add to, you can tap either New page before or New note.

Correct spelling

Maybe your notes need a little polishing. The Correct spelling feature will display grammar suggestions that can be applied to your text. 

  1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Notes app, and then select a note. Or, you can tap Create note (the pencil icon) to start a new note.
  2. Tap the Notes assist icon (the three stars) above the keyboard, and then tap Correct spelling.
    Note: You may need to tap OK on the prompt.
  3. Corrections and suggestions will appear; tap the underlined text to view detailed information. The suggestions will vary depending on the original text. From here, you can use the following options: 
    • Copy: Copy the corrected text to your device's clipboard, so it can be added to another note or app.
    • Replace: Replace the current note with the corrected text. 
    • Add to: Add the corrected text to the current note. After tapping Add to, you can tap either New page before or New note.

 

Translate

The Translate feature will translate your notes into a variety of languages. You can then add the translation to your original note or copy the translation to another app.

  1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Notes app, and then select a note. Or, you can tap Create note (the pencil icon) to start a new note.
  2. Tap the Notes assist icon (the three stars) above the keyboard, and then tap Translate.
    Note: You may need to tap OK on the prompt.
  3. Select your desired Target language, or tap Add languages to download a new language. Tap Translate to translate the note. From here, you can use the following options:
    • Copy: Copy the translated text to your device's clipboard, so it can be added to another note or app.
    • Replace: Replace the current note with the translated text. 
    • Add to: Add the translated text to the current note. After tapping Add to, you can tap either New page before or New note.
Note
Trigonometric functions are supported. Calculus is not.

Math solver

Use Galaxy AI in Samsung Notes to solve math problems fast. Write equations ending with an equal sign, and Galaxy AI will provide instant solutions.

  1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Notes app, and then select a note. Or, you can tap Create note (the pencil icon) to start a new note.
  2. Tap the More options (three vertical dots) icon, and then tap Turn on Math solver.
  3. Write a math problem and end it with an equal sign. Galaxy AI will solve it instantly.

Sticky memo

A sticky memo makes it easy to highlight important information and keep your notes and organization.

  1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Notes app, and then select a note. Or, you can tap Create note (the pencil icon) to start a new note.
  2. Tap the More options (three vertical dots) icon, then tap Insert, and then tap Sticky notes.
  3. Then, use the keyboard to enter your text. 
  4. Customize the background color by tapping the More options (three vertical dots) icon from the top right corner, and then tapping your desired color.
  5. Minimize the sticky note by tapping the two opposite arrows.
  6. Move the sticky note by touching and holding the top center, then dragging it to your desired spot.
  7. Remove the sticky note by touching and holding it, then tap Delete

Drag & drop AI results (Writing)

Easily transfer writing styles generated in Samsung Internet to your notes for further editing.

  1. Open the Samsung Internet app, and then touch and hold the article you want to enhance to select it.
  2. Tap the Browsing assist icon (the three stars), then tap Writing Style, and then choose your desired writing style.
  3. Touch and hold the selected AI result, and then drag it to your desired window for editing or sharing.

Turn sketches into stunning art, create images from text descriptions, and transform photos into cartoons, paintings, and more. Easily edit Galaxy AI-generated content in Samsung Internet by dragging it into the Notes app for further customization.

Sketch to image with Samsung Notes 

Enhance your notes with fun sketches and doodles using AI drawing in Samsung Notes.

  1. Open the Samsung Notes app, and then either start a new note by tapping Create note (the pencil icon) or open an existing note.
  2. Use the S Pen or your finger to draw in a blank spot on the note.
  3. Tap the Notes Assist icon (the three stars) on the toolbar, then select Sketch to image.
  4. Trace around your drawing to select it. Choose a style from the drop-down menu (e.g., Watercolor, Illustrations, Pencil Sketch, 3D Cartoon, Pop Art).
  5. Tap Generate to create AI-generated images. Swipe left or right to select your favorite. 
  6. Tap Copy to copy the image to your device's clipboard, tap Add to note to add the image to your note, and tap Replace to replace a section of the note with your image.
  7. Move the image by touching and dragging it, then tap Back to save the note.

Drag & Drop AI Results (Drawing)

Easily edit and enhance Galaxy AI-generated images from Samsung Internet by moving them to the Notes app.

  1. Open the Samsung Internet app, and then search for the image you want to enhance.
  2. Touch and hold the image, and then tap Drawing Assist
  3. You can describe the image using text for enhanced results.
  4. Choose a style from the drop-down menu.
  5. Tap Generate to create AI-generated images. Swipe left or right to select your favorite.  
  6. Touch and hold the generated AI image, and then drag it to your desired window for editing or sharing.

Use Now bar

Note
A screen lock must be enabled to use the Now bar.
Stay updated with live notifications about ongoing activities like sports, recording, and Maps, displayed on the Lock screen, status bar, and Notification panel.

Turn on Now bar

  1. Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open the Quick panel settings, and then tap the Settings (gear) icon.
  2. Tap Lock screen, then tap Now bar, and then tap View more.
  3. Turn on switches for categories that interest you (e.g., Samsung Health, Interpreter).
  4. Tap Back, then enable Media player and Current mode if desired.

Use the Now bar

  1. Double tap the screen or press the Power button to wake the screen.
  2. Swipe upward on the Now bar to select an item of interest.
  3. Touch and hold the Now bar to access more options, such as removing categories or changing settings.

Edit suggestions

Enhance your photos with Galaxy AI’s intelligent editing suggestions tailored to each image.

  1. Navigate to and open the Gallery app, and then select the image you want to edit.
  2. Tap the Details icon (i) or the AI icon (the three stars) to view available edit suggestions (e.g., Remaster, Erase Shadows, Erase Reflections).
  3. Choose your desired suggestion and follow the instructions; tap or draw around objects or adjust sliders as needed. 

Galaxy AI analyzes your photos and provides personalized suggestions to make your images look their best.

Object eraser

Instantly remove unwanted people or objects from your photos using the object eraser tool.

  1. Navigate to and open the Gallery app, and then select the image you want to edit.
  2. Tap the Edit icon, then tap the rightmost icon (the four circles), and then tap Object eraser.
  3. Next, draw around something you want to remove. For example, you can draw a circle or a square around an object, or simply tap the object instead. Tap Erase to remove it.
    Note: You can also tap Erase shadows and Erase reflections if desired. 
  4. If needed, tap the arrows to undo or redo your edit. Continue removing objects until you’re finished, and then tap Done.
  5. If you need to start over, tap Revert, and then tap Revert to original.
  6. To save your newly edited image, tap Save, and then tap Save again.
    Note: You can also keep the original image by tapping More options (the three vertical dots), and then tapping Save as copy.
Note
Motion Photo must be turned on. Best Face captures a Motion Photo up to 3 seconds. Will identify and provide results for up to 5 people. Resulting image up to 12MP.

Best face

Perfect group photos by selecting the best facial expressions with the Best Face tool.

  1. Navigate to and open the Gallery app, and then select the Motion photo you want to edit.
  2. Tap the More options (three vertical dots) icon or swipe up to access additional settings, then tap the Details icon (i).
  3. Tap Choose Best Face on the photo.
  4. At the bottom, browse through various facial expressions and select your preferred one.
  5. Tap View More for additional options if needed.
  6. Use Previous to return to the original option.
  7. Once satisfied, tap Save. Choose Save or Save Copy to keep the edited photo. 

Best Face ensures your group photos look perfect by letting you choose the best expressions for everyone. 

Auto Trim

Quickly polish your videos by removing pauses and blank parts with Auto Trim, making them look professional in just a few taps.

  1. Open the Gallery app and tap Menu (three horizontal lines) at the bottom.
  2. Select Go to Studio, then tap Start a New Project.
  3. Choose your desired video(s) by tapping them and selecting Done. Alternatively, tap Search, swipe to the Shot types section, and select Video.
  4.  On the editing screen, tap the Auto Trim (scissors) icon at the bottom left.
  5. Select Auto Trim in the editing menu. The tool will analyze your video and suggest a trimmed version.
  6. Tap the Play icon to preview the Auto Trim version.
  7. For manual adjustments, tap the Custom Length icon and drag the slider to set your desired length. Tap Apply to confirm.
  8. Enhance your video by reordering clips by touching and holding a clip, then dragging and dropping it to your preferred position.
  9. Add fun elements by tapping the Text, Stickers, Draw, or Audio icons, then tap Apply to save changes.
  10. Spice up your video with a license-free soundtrack by tapping the Soundtrack icon.
  11. Preview your final video by tapping the Play icon, then tap Done to save changes.
  12. Add a title by tapping Edit, then save your video by tapping Save Movie. Alternatively, tap Delete to remove it.

Auto Trim ensures your videos are polished, professional, and ready to share with minimal effort.

Use AI Select on the Galaxy Tab S11 or Tab S11 Ultra to curate actions for any content or picture. Pin, edit, save, share, copy, extract text/images, or turn videos into GIFs with ease.

  1. Open the Air Command menu with the S Pen or swipe open the Edge Panel, and then tap AI Select.
  2. Draw around the content you want to capture or tap an onscreen object. Adjust the selection by dragging its corners. 
  3. View all available actions. Tap the More options (three vertical dots) icon to view additional actions.
    Note: Options may vary.
    • Create GIF: Choose between High quality or Standard quality, and then tap Record. Up to 15 seconds can be recorded. If you need less than that, tap Stop when you're ready.
    • Sketch to Image: Convert a sketch into an illustration.
    • Map: Open a map of the selected location.
      Add to Note: Insert content into Samsung Notes.
    • Copy: Save text to the clipboard.
    • Share: Send content via text, email, or other services.
    • Save: Save the selection as an image.
    • Extract Text: Copy recognized text.
    • Pin: Add the selection to your Home screen.
    • Edit: Open the selection in Gallery for further editing. AI Select transforms your screen captures into actionable content with just a few taps.
