Link Home screen apps on the Galaxy Z TriFold

Cover screen mirroring

Cover screen mirroring allows you to use the same layout on your cover and main screens, displaying the content of one screen on another.

Here's how to use it:

  1. Open the Quick settings panel by swiping down from the top right corner.
  2. Tap the Settings icon, and then tap Home screen.
  3. Tap Cover screen mirroring, and then tap On.

    Note: When you turn off Cover screen mirroring, the previous layout will be restored to the main screen.
     

Keep in mind that each page of your main screen will show two pages of the cover screen layout.

Continue apps on main screen

Note
Continue apps on cover screen is not supported on the Galaxy TriFold.

Seamlessly continue using apps on the cover screen across the main screen:

  1. Open the Quick settings panel by swiping down from the top right corner.
  2. Tap the Settings icon, and then tap Display.

Once enabled, any app you open on the cover screen will automatically continue running on the main screen. This ensures a smooth and uninterrupted experience as you switch between screens.

Add apps to the Home screen

Customize your Home screen with your favorite apps:

  1. Swipe up on the Home screen or tap the Apps icon to open the Apps menu.
    Note: Options will vary depending on your device settings.
  2. Touch and hold the app you want to add until a menu displays, and then tap Add to Home.

  4. Release the app to place it on the Home screen.

 

To remove the app from the Home screen, touch and hold the app you want to remove until a menu displays, and then tap Remove.

Group apps in folders

Note
If you have multiple copies of the same folder (e.g., one on the Home screen and one on the Apps screen), delete them separately.

Organize apps into folders for better accessibility:

  1. Create a folder:
    From the Home screen, touch and hold an app, and then drag the app on top of another app and release it. Both apps will be added to a new folder.

  2. Name the folder:
    Tap Folder name, enter an appropriate name, and then tap Done on the keyboard.

  3. Customize the folder:
    Tap the Palette icon (circle) in the upper right corner.

  4. Add additional apps to the folder:
    Tap Add (the plus sign) to add more apps or drag additional apps into the folder.

  5. Exit the folder:
    Tap anywhere outside of the folder to close it.

  6. Move the folder:
    Touch and hold the folder, and then drag it to your desired location.

  7. Delete the folder:
    Touch and hold the folder, and then tap Delete folder. The apps will return to the Apps screen.

App pairs via the Edge panel

Create app pairs for quick multitasking on your Galaxy Z TriFold. Follow these steps to set up and manage app pairs:

  1. Swipe left from the edge of the screen to open the Edge panel.
  2. Touch and hold your desired app, then drag and drop your first app onto the Home screen.
  3. Open the Edge panel again, and drag and drop a second app in the top, bottom, right, or left portions of the screen.

    Note: You can also select an app’s icon from the Recents view, then tap Open in split screen view.
  4. Tap the dotted divider between the windows, and then tap the App pair icon (it looks like a star).

  5. Select from Taskbar, Home screen, or Apps edge panel to place the app pair in your selected location.

Enable the Taskbar

Note
  • The Taskbar is turned on by default; it’s good to know how to find it again if you turned it off.
  • The Taskbar cannot be enabled or disabled from the Cover screen.

The Taskbar provides quick access to recent apps on your Galaxy TriFold:

  1. Open the Quick settings panel by swiping down from the top right corner.
  2. Tap the Settings icon, and then tap Display
  3. Tap Taskbar, and then turn on the switch at the top of the screen.

  4. Tap Show recent apps or suggested apps, and then select the maximum number of apps to show on the Taskbar.
