Samsung phone is unable to use data during calls

There are two main types of networks your phone carrier might use. One is CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), and the other is GSM (Global System for Mobiles). Depending on which one you have, it can affect when you can use data.

Carriers that use CDMA networks do not support simultaneous Voice and Data connections. However, LTE phones on these networks may support simultaneous Voice and Data if your phone and network support Voice over LTE.

  1. Open Settings and tap Connections.
  2. Tap Mobile networks.
  3. Tap the switch next to VoLTE calls to turn it on.

Please contact your carrier for additional details if you are unsure about your network.
