Samsung range hood will not turn on

The light on your hood helps you see while you're cooking. While we wish we could give you steps on how to replace it yourself, unfortunately replacing the light (or correcting a hood that won't turn on at all) is something which requires a service technician or an installer. The good news though, is that these lights hardly ever go out, so if you do need a replacement for some reason, it's probably the last one you will ever need.

Samsung range hood will not turn on

If you just installed your hood and are trying it for the first time and it will not power on, service is not required. Consult your installer for assistance. Installation instructions can be found in the user manual.

If you've only tried turning on the light, make sure you also try the fan and see if it works.

  • If the fan will blow, then you know the hood has power and the issue is only with the light.
  • If the fan will not blow, then check your circuit breaker to make sure a circuit is not tripped. Switch it off and back on, and try the vent fan again.

If the fan or light still will not turn on, visit our Support Center to request service.
