On-Demand tracking icon is gray on SmartThings Tracker

The Tracker's location can be detected from any distance with the SmartThings app, as long as it's within the range of a cellular network. Service may be limited and location tracking may be inaccurate if the Tracker is used indoors or in a moving car, or when the GPS signal is poor.

Note
If the tracker is powered off or there's a software update, location tracking will be unavailable.

  1. Open the SmartThings app on your phone.
  2. Tap Devices in the bottom row, and then tap All devices in the upper row.
  3. Tap on your Tracker in the list of devices. The tracker's card will display its status and a time stamp may appear based on the last location report.
  4. To determine the tracker's On-demand status, touch the tracker's name on the device card, and then view the On-demand tracking (Live Tracking or SmartThings Tracker Location) icons in the lower right corner.
  • If the SmartThings Tracker Location icon is spinning, the location is being tracked.
  • If the SmartThings Tracker Location icon is gray, Live Tracking is enabled. The tracker's location will continuously update for 10 minutes.
  • If the Live Tracking or SmartThings Tracker Location icons are gray, the tracker is powered off.
