Your cooktop will have either single heating elements, dual heating elements, or triple heating elements. Each version has different knobs with controls clearly printed on the front. The controls will need to match the position of the knob in order to function. For example, if you’re using a single heating element, the HI control should be on the left, the OFF control should be in the center, and the LO control should be on the right.
Depending on the type of heating element your cooktop has, you can identify and place the knobs in the correct position:
- Single element: The knob will have one control scale: HI to LO. HI will be on the left and LO will be on the right, with OFF in the center.
- Dual element: The knob will have two control scales: HI Bridge to LO, and HI Front to LO. HI Bridge will be on the left and HI Front will be on the right, while OFF is in the center.
- Triple element: The knob will have three control scales: HI Small to LO, HI Middle to LO, and HI to LO Large. HI Small will be on the right, LO Large will be on the left, and HI Middle will be located next to the LO setting. OFF will be in the center.
