Galaxy XR battery pack does not charge or turn on

If your Samsung Galaxy XR battery pack is not charging, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue and ensure your battery pack is functioning properly. From inspecting components to checking connections, we'll guide you through resolving the problem.

Galaxy XR battery pack does not charge or turn on

Note
Use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables specifically designed for your battery pack. This includes the supplied battery pack or a compatible replacement designed specifically for the device. Using incompatible or lower-capacity battery packs may result in issues such as sudden power interruptions or unstable operation.
1

Inspect the battery pack, cables, and charger.

Verify that the battery pack, cables, and wall adapter have no physical or liquid damage. Any damage could prevent proper charging.

  • Check for a cracked or lifted case, and broken, bent, or loose parts on the battery pack, power cable, or charger. If you notice obvious damage, cracks, or small chips, it indicates the components have suffered from external impact, which may impair their functionality.

  • Check for any visible damage, such as fraying or wear on the power cable or charging cable.

  • Inspect the USB connections for corrosion, bent pins, or debris that may hinder proper charging.

  • The battery pack and other charging components are not impervious to water damage in any situation. Exposure to water, liquids, or chemicals can cause damage or issues.

If the battery pack or power cable has gotten wet or is damaged, visit our Support Center to request service. For issues with the charging cable or wall adapter, such as damage or exposure to water, you can purchase a new one directly from Samsung.com.

2

Check the indicator light on the battery pack.

Over time, an unused battery will discharge and must be recharged before use. Press the Battery level button on the battery pack to check the remaining battery level. Ensure the LED lights turn on to confirm the battery is functional.

  • Red: Charging or low battery.
  • Green: Fully charged.
  • Flashing Red: Charging disabled or reduced battery.
  • No light: Not charging or depleted battery.
3

Reset the battery pack.

Press and hold the battery level check button for more than 7 seconds. This will reset the battery back.
4

Charge the battery pack.

Plug one end of the USB-C cable into the battery pack and the other end into the wall charger. Connect the wall charger to a power source. The indicator light will show the charging status. If the indicator light flashes, disconnect and reconnect the cable. Ensure it's properly connected to both the battery pack and the wall charger.

  • Once fully charged, disconnect the battery pack from the charger and unplug the charger from the wall outlet.
  • If the battery pack does not show any signs of charging, visit our Support Center to request service.
Note
If the battery pack has been depleted, the battery charging indicator may take up to 10 minutes to appear while charging.
