Unauthorized software detected pop-up for Samsung TVs and monitors

If you've received a pop-up message on your mobile phone running One UI 8.5 software stating that an unauthorized software update was detected after completing a software update via OTN (Over-The-Network) on your TV or monitor, don't worry! There are no issues with the software updates for your TV or monitor. To resolve this, simply install the software update patch on your phone.

Software update patch availability may vary by country and device type.

Install a software update patch

  1. Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen using two fingers, then tap the Settings icon.
  2. Swipe to and tap Software Update or System Updates (varies by model).
  3. Tap Download and InstallCheck for System Updates, or Check for Software Updates, depending on your carrier.
  4. If a software patch is available, it will begin downloading automatically. On some devices, you may need to tap Download Now
    Note: If no patch is available, check back later. 
  5. Once the download is complete, follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
