Check your charger and charging cable

Screen flickering can be caused by a faulty charger or cable. Follow these steps to check your charger and cable for problems.
Note
Using incompatible accessories may damage the device or cause charging issues.

Use Samsung compatible chargers and cables

Even if chargers and cables look similar, charging quality and performance may vary.

  • For optimized charging performance and device safety, Samsung recommends using compatible Samsung chargers and charging cables designed for your Galaxy device.

Check the charger connection

Inconsistent power delivery may lead to display issues.

  • Disconnect the charger from the Galaxy device and reconnect the charging cable securely to the charging port.

Check for flickering in Safe mode

Enter Safe mode

  1. Press and hold the Volume down button and the Side button until the Power off menu appears.

If the flickering stops when your device is in Safe Mode, this could mean that the issue is being caused by a bug with one of the apps you have installed.

To find out which app is causing the problem:

  1. Uninstall the most recent app you downloaded before the problem started.
  2. Repeat until the flickering stops. You can always reinstall apps if it wasn't causing the issue.

If the flickering persists even in Safe Mode, it is likely a hardware issue rather than a software issue. If this is the case, please visit a Samsung walk-in service center or you can schedule a repair service online.

Exit Safe mode
