Whether you need to clean heavily soiled pots and pans or delicate cutlery and glasses, you can use the different cycles on your Samsung dishwasher to wash all of your items. Our guide provides details on each model’s cycle and its uses.
DW50R40* models

AUTO: Detects the level of soil and automatically initiates the optimal cycle. This cycle can be used for all levels of soiled items.
Note: This cycle is available on models DW5*R407*BB and DW5*R406*BB.

Normal: For normally soiled items such as pots, plates, glasses, and pans. This is a standard daily cycle.
Note: This cycle is available on models DW5*R405*BB and DW5*R404*BB.

ECO: This cycle reduces power and water consumption, and is ideal for normally soiled items.

Intensive: This cycle can be used for heavily soiled items.

Delicate: This cycle can be used for lightly soiled items, as well as fragile items such as glasses. The Sanitize option is not available when using this cycle.

Express: This short cycle can be used for normally soiled daily items. The Multi tab option is not available when using this cycle.

Quick: This cycle can be used to clean lightly soiled items in a short amount of time. The Sanitize and Multi tab options are not available when using this cycle.

Download Course: You can download additional cycles, including the following:
- Extra Silence: A longer but quieter cycle than a standard cycle.
- Baby Care: Washes and dries baby items at a high temperature. Do not add detergent or rinse aid when using this cycle.
- Plastic: Washes and dries plastic items at a safe temperature.
- Pots and Pans: Uses hotter water and higher pressure than a standard cycle to clean pots and pans.
