What to do if you cannot connect your Samsung Galaxy Watch to Wi-Fi

Last Update date : 2023-02-10

There could be several reasons why your watch won't connect to a Wi-Fi network. For example, the Wi-Fi settings on your watch may be set to off, or there may be an issue with the wireless network you're trying to connect to.

1 From your watch's Home screen, drag down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel, and then tap the Settings icon.
2 Tap Connections, and then tap Wi-Fi.

Note:

  • For the Galaxy Watch 3 and previous models, disconnect Bluetooth, tap Wi-Fi and then Select Auto or Always on.
  • On the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5, enable Wi-Fi.
  • When connecting your watch to Wi-Fi, you may need to disable Bluetooth, depending on your model.
3 On the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch5 series, tap an available network to connect to it, and enter the password, if required.

To connect to a hidden network, tap Add network, and then select the Security type (you may need to tap Security). Next, tap Network name, enter the name and password, and then tap Done. Tap Connect.

Note:

  • Available features and settings may vary by the watch, software version, and carrier.
  • Enable the Sync Wi-Fi profiles feature to automatically connect to the Wi-Fi networks saved on your phone. This feature may not be available on all watch models.
  • Wi-Fi cannot be managed on the Galaxy Fit.
1 Connect your smartphone to the Wi-Fi router and check if it is connected to the Internet.
2 If your smartphone cannot connect to the Wi-Fi router, or if you cannot connect to the Internet after connecting, try turning the Wi-Fi router off and on and then connect again.

Note:

  • Depending on the security settings of certain Wi-Fi routers, some routers may not be able to connect to the Galaxy Watch.
1 From the watch's Home screen, drag down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel, and then tap the Settings icon.

Note:

  • Settings cannot be accessed on the Galaxy Fit. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone instead.
2 Tap General, then tap Reset, and then tap Reset again to confirm.
  • For the Gear Fit2 Pro, tap Gear info, and then tap Reset Gear.
  • For the Galaxy Fit, swipe to and tap About band. Tap Reset band, and then tap Reset to confirm.

Once you reset your watch, you will need to reconnect it to the Galaxy Wearable app. After the connection is complete, you can check for software updates.

Note:

  • Before you perform a reset, make sure you back up the data on your watch using the Galaxy Wearable app. Samsung is not responsible for any lost data.
