Fast charge your Galaxy phone

If your phone just died, or if it's about to, it isn't the end of the world. You can charge it back to full power in no time by using the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger. This charger comes with your phone, and it provides an extremely quick charging time.

Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for smartphones sold in other countries. Only use Samsung-approved charging devices. Samsung accessories are designed to maximize the battery life for your phone. Using other accessories may invalidate your warranty and cause damage.

You cannot use the fast charging feature when you are using a standard charger. It needs to be a Samsung-approved fast charger.

When you plug in a Samsung Fast Charger, your phone automatically turns on the Fast cable charging feature. This feature should be on by default, but here's how to turn it on manually: open Settings, and then tap Device care. Next, tap Battery, and then tap Charging. Finally, tap the switch next to "Fast charging".

Before you start charging, make sure you are using the correct charger for your phone. When you're ready, all it takes is three easy steps to get your phone charging at top speed.

Insert the USB cable into the USB port on your phone. Make sure the USB cable is connected to the charging adaptor, and then plug the adaptor into a standard outlet. For the fastest charging time, plug the charger directly into an outlet. Plugging the USB cable into a computer or another device will lengthen the charging time.

Charging the phone

When your phone is done charging, unplug the charger from the phone and the adaptor from the wall.

If your phone is not charging, there a couple things that could be causing the problem. However, if your fast charger doesn't work at all, it should be replaced. It's if under warranty, you can request service. If not, you will need to purchase a new one.

Make sure to use the Samsung-approved charging adapter that came with your phone when using fast charging.

Your Galaxy S20 can use fast charging and super fast charging when you really need your device to be up and running again. Super fast charging is only available using the charger that came with the phone or with a 45W Samsung-approved adapter. However, fast charging can be used with a standard Fast Charger.

To enable fast or super fast charging, navigate to and open Settings. Swipe to Device care, and then tap Battery. Tap Charging, and then tap the switch next to "Fast charging" to turn it on. To enable super fast charging instead, tap the switch next to "Super fast charging" to turn it on.
