The 128gb capacity was adequate for my needs. The design is nice and the metallic shell makes it feel durable. The eyelet for a key chain is nice. The read and write speeds are fine, but not great. The drive can also get hot to the touch under some prolonged use. I've had my drive for 2 years and it is still working for my use.

I've had a 32gb flash drive that I've been carrying on my belt for the last 6-7 years and this thing has survived just about everything. welding shops and grinding metal, carpentry shops and sawdust, just getting slammed around as I bump into everything and this flash drive has only now stopped working. I ALWAYS keep my usb drive with me that has to contain EVERYTHING important in my computer, in case something happens to the house while I'm gone. This meant I needed something that could handle the elements, because I also ride my Harley in thunderstorms if the weather is warm enough. When I found Samsung's usb flash drives and read how they are waterproof and so much more, I bought one that instant. I * STILL* have the very first one I bought about a decade ago. I now have 6 of the drives...3 of the bar drives, and three of the short drives. I keep these in a plastic baggie in my pocket wherever I go. My house could burn down and other than the loss of equipment my meager disability check could get me over the years, I would be able to get on any computer I wanted and have all my information right there. I even have one of the short drives contains a live version of Slackware Linux that I use. These drives are worth every penny! At this moment, there's literally no other flash drive, from any other company, I would use. These drives have held up through all weather, all kinds of situations (like being in my pocket crawling in the mud under the house when a water pipe burst the other night. MUDDY is all I was when I got done), etc, and works like new always.

I know as I set-up my own home-thumbdrive(usb)speed test against 2 (other) well known media makers and I did so downloading a test-set # of files from my desktop (Windows 11) and then uploading the same test-set # of files back to windows file exployer. Using my recently received New Galaxy S25 Ultra 512Gb Unlocked from Samsung.com greatest online trade-in offer ever, using the stopwatch function from the Clock app my Samsung 128-Gb Flash or Thumb Drive.purchased online recently won out significantly in the download and upload tests against it's 2 toughest competitors. I couldn't have made a better purchase--apples to apples it was sale-priced and beat the same 2 competitors in the price tag test I performed in the store! Incidentally, I didn't cover this earlier but the other 2 competitors flash drives are also 128Gb in capacity and less than a month old--gifts from colleagues at my official retirement party at Atlas.

But I chock this up to the no DRAM and the fact there was just so many pictures. This doesn't happen with NVME but it is not really fair to compare those protocols. I reallyyyy wanna upgrade to a few 990 nvme drives in my pc though 😂

I store a variety of documents, photos, and videos on it and it’s speedy enough to get it done quickly. In addition, for anyone accidentally/intentionally deleting files but would like to recover them… the additional speed benefit is helpful when using Recuva. It’s also quite a tough material so don’t worry about shoving it in your pocket.
