unfortunately my review is too long for this, so i've cut it down drastically. don't buy these cameras. coming from a techy household, we have nothing but problems with these. hundreds of clips will record in a day, but then it will randomly say they can't be found when you try to watch them. cameras will also periodically disconnect, with no notification. i have to reset both cameras every few days, which defeats the purpose. the quality and features are great when they work, but i've been fighting these for over a year, and there's no support available. after having a house full of samsung products, i'm incredibly disappointed in these.

this expensive camera works when connected but it disconnects at least 3 times a day and needs to be power-cycled to re-connect. pretty crap-tastic. i have a spectrum wifi router that is configured in my samsung galaxy 20 ultra so it was set up automatically and easily in the smartthings app. it started working immediately which was nice and works well when "connected". too bad it disconnects at least 2 or 3 times a day and it requires human intervention so this blows the idea of security out of the water. i thought samsung would be better than other cheapo crappy camera but they are just as bad. its an expensive and very disappointing toy at this point.

We use it primarily to keep an eye on the kiddos while we're making dinner and whatnot. Couldn't be happier. The install was super simple. In about 10 minutes my wife had the camera activated on both of our phones, a tablet, and connected to Alexa. It's wall-mounted (also easy), and provides an excellent vantage point. really, the only downside is the somewhat limited Wi-Fi range. We've had to be a little careful with where we place it to make sure it stays fully connected. That's a very small complaint, though. This feels like a very good camera.

so i got 2 of these as a bundle after buying new phones and was looking forward to using them downstairs to keep an eye on things, escpecially our dog and kids, its got great quality videos,...when they want to record, or when its not offline randomly or not choosing when it wants to not upload videos of feed to my app. i have reset them both twice and i still have issues with my kitchen one. they are both within range of the router. so im not sure why they choose to be on in the most random moments and then off other tines, however, like i said, when they are onthey have great quality and nice speakers to do a 2way chat with kiddos downstairs, when you need to back on track.

Presto u have a awesome WiFi camera! Have your WiFi password handy! The video is very high quality. it has night vision that works flawless. The camera flips the video so it’s right side up! Comes with cloud storage, very basic service but suits my needs great! Took a little playing around with the app to figure out all the features( it has a lot) great camera and pairs with the WiFi plug to turn things off and on when it detects motion. All in all a solid camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I have a total of 4 ST Cams, for a couple months now and for the most part it works. Out of my 4 cams, 1 gives me the absolute most trouble with staying connected. This 1 cam status is "disconnected" half the time. Sometime it works fine...other times it works very poorly. I've deleted it and reinstalled it. I've unplugged it many times and still same issues. I find myself most of the time just keeping it unplugged, as its not in a must have spot. All cameras get and stay very hot to the touch. If you’re in the market for a camera, be mindful seems like some of these cams are suspect.

Kameran saknar täckning trots att den står 2m från router utan hinder. Svår att konfigurera, blir sjukt varm. Bilden fryser fast och slutar uppdatera efter 5-10 min. Trots att kameran står på ett dygn så händer ingenting. Efter ominstallation händer samma sak, fungerar 5-10 minuter. Supporten svar är som för alla andra produkter kopplade till Smartthings hub är att ominstallera och rensa cashminnet, vilket inte löser problemet för varken kameran eller sensorer som krånglar. Önskar mer av produkter från ett så stort företag som Samsung.

i would love to write a review if the camera, but unfortunately it won’t even connect to my smartthings mesh wifi. i believe the issue is it is unable to “see” the 2.4ghz band on a mesh wifi which presents as a single ssid. it’s astonishing to me that a product from the same company, with the same smartthings brand, has this issue. multiple interactions with samsung support have gotten us nowhere. we are resigned to leaving this thing in a drawer to gather dust, and i am now considering getting rid of my smartthings products altogether.

So easy to install and set up, easy access to check in on with my phone and perfectly sized and sharp looking! I love the peace of mind it brings knowing our home is safe for the kids to come to when we aren't there first. The added feature of the microphone is awesome. I love the alerts you will get if it sees or hear anything. Being able to set it to see the door or a wider area is perfect for different situations. So happy with everything the Smart Things Cam offers.

i bought 2 cameras, one for a nursery monitor & one for my back porch to view the back yard. the nursery monitor is awesome. however the lights from the night vision camera on the porch reflect off the windows so i cannot see outside. this is not a criticism of the camera just a fact in case anyone planned to do that sorry if application. i'm certain it will be fine when the windows are removed for warm weather but during the winter months i'm only able to see out during the daytime. i'm very happy with this purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Camera picture quality is good, but the the paid subscription cost to get a usable clip is WAY TO STEEP!!! The 10 second clip on free plan is absolutely useless. The time delay to get a notification that the camera is activated and actually getting the feed to open in Smartthings App is between 20 and 30 seconds [using S10+, firmware is up to date]. So if you need to see what actually is happening, you will never be able to. Am I really supposed to keep the live feed running 24/7 to see the event that trigger the need to record!? I already have a Samsung cloud account with available storage, why can't it it be linked to that and extend the record time? Will likely be replacing both ST Cams soon. Lesson learned - do not buy the initial release of any Smart products.

this is easily the worst system i've ever encountered. it's so bad and so unbelievably frustrating and maddening to use. samsung should ditch this system entirely. the app is clunky and only works sometimes. the cameras lose connection then have to be unplugged and replugged to regain connection. i have good signal strength - 1 is 10 feet from my router & 100% strength - and that's the worst behaving one. i've contacted smartthings support and basically get the "tech runaround" you'd expect. have you unplugged and replugged. uninstall the app and reinstall. remove the cameras and re-add them - which btw completely erases your entire history of clips and they didn't warn me. terrible. not enough room here to describe the horridness of this system. so unreliable it's worthless. big mistake.

We purchased one and right out of the package something inside the camera rattled. We installed it which was easy and it all looked great. A few hours later the camera was offline with a message in the ST app to reinstall the camera. The camera itself was extremely hot so I thought it may be defective so we returned and tried a second one... again set up was easy; picture was great but again the camera repeatedly goes offline and I have to install the camera at least 5 times in 2 days. I'm trying to research the issue but so far I can not figure out why it continues to lose it's connection. I do not feel this camera is reliable at all and if I can not get consistent performance then this one will be returned as well. I have other Samsung products and multiple smart home items and this by far is the most frustrating to deal with.

I am a big fan of the smart things app as I already use their WiFi outlet plugs for my AC units. I love their plugs, so I figured it made sense to pick one of these up. So far I have really enjoyed it. I dog sitting for a family member and was able to feel at ease that everything was alright while I was away from the house. I highly recommend for a pet friendly solution.

i have two of these, purchased the samsung smartthings camera to be sure they would work flawlessly without any issues. every time i think, "hey, i'll just check the camera and see how things are going at home" one or both are offline. when i come home, i reset them and they work fine again... for a few days. them we start all over again and i have to reset them. for the price, this should not be a problem.

been trying for over an hour now to set up the camera. it gets through the whole process and then says cannot connect try again. all the touble shooting help says is to reset the canera and try again. that doesnt work. i have gigabyte interent and tried with camera right next to router and with multiple phones. doesnt work and there are no troublshooting guides that actually help

I received this interior camera when I purchased my Galaxy S20 plus last month. This camera is always "offline". The camera is located 10 feet from my router and smartthings hub in direct line of sight. The cameras will work for a few days and then the just stop working, usually at the most inopportune time. The firmware needs an update. Samsung needs to fix this issue.

image quality ia excellent, even while zooming in. however sound quality is not good when watching live feed, microphone/speaker not on par with samsung quality product. camera was purchased for viewing not listening/talking which is why i'd recommend product. if you wwnt for speaker/mic clarity as well, this may not be for you.

Kameran tappar mottagning trots att den är 2 meter från router. Bilden fryser fast, kameran blir väldigt varm, så varm att jag blir orolig för att den ska fatta eld. Krångligt att få den att synka med Smartthings hur. Det tog två dagar med ominstallation, reset att få bild som sedan fungerar några minuter och sen fryser.

Worked for about 3 months, then would not function. Had to go through setup to get them to work again. Worked for several weeks, then stopped recording. Then stopped working all together. Setup again and the same thing. The things we were trying to observe have been stolen and we saw nothing!

En trevlig liten kamera till priset, bilden på dagen samt kvällen är helt okej. Är man inne i deras ekosystem så får man ut det mesta utav kameran. Inte mycket negativt om den förutom när den går från dagläge till nattläge så gör kamera ett ljud som efter ett tag kan gå en på nerverna..

although the camera does the job it constantly disconnects and reconnects to the samsung hub. we have the camera located in out living room and notice that several times a day it disconnects to hub. i hope there is a fix for this and it makes me doubt it's reliably as a security camera.

I bought this camera 3 months ago & am not a big fan. I can only connect it for a few hors and have to disconnect because the camera heats up easily. Unfortunately, I can't leave this camera on throughout the night, or day in that matter. Also, when I do use it the signal goes off & on.

But it was super easy to hookup to WiFi and works great, the picture is super clear, the sound is clear, and you get notifications at sound and movements it’s worth it to have one for anywhere!

this camera has horrible and i mean an absolutely horrible wifi chip that is the one major down fall otherwise the video and audio are the best out there , nothing comes close but when it can't cannot to your network or randomly disconnects that basically means it's unusable

I was excited to get my new camera setup and working, but setup would hang at the point where it registers with Samsung. I registered my Smartthings Cam on my Samsung online account, and tried setup again, same thing, unable to register with Samsung. I don't get it.

The app wasn’t very user friendly but the device works well. I think the app just needs some upgrades to smooth everything out.

The setup is easy and the app is very easy to use. You can also set it to alert you to movement and sound. You can speak through it as well.

I wish it was a suitable outdoor camera, but it doesn’t seems to be built for outdoors.

I bought two of these cameras before Samsung took over. My RC8335PRO units no longer connect to the new Samsung (Smart things App) nor can I connect either camera to my wireless web. It was fun for a year or so but now just plastic junk.

The camera has great security features, but the motion doesn't detect the difference between humans and other motion very well. The camera disconnects almost on daily basis. Overall great Idea but needs updates or not ready for primetime

Camera will repeatedly glitch out losing connection to the "server" without notification and when i try to check it "video could not be found on the server". Sorry excuse for a security camera and wouldn't reccomended this to anyone.

HDR 1080p video looks beautiful on my iPhone and iPad displays, audio recording is terrific, video quality is top-notch, it's flexible on mounting options, and just a great security camera overall. So why am I giving this 3 stars instead of the 5 it otherwise deserves? This camera lacks local storage. Most cameras in its price range offer both local storage AND cloud-based (for a fee) storage. With no SD card slot, there is no way this will store video locally. For those of you with "capped" internet plans, this will be a problem, especially if you invest in more than 2 of these cameras (1080p video isn't exactly low-bandwidth, after all). For those of you with unlimited home plans and lots of upload bandwidth (which means you either have an upper-tier fiber connection or you're likely paying your ISP an additional fee to avoid overage charges), this is fine. But for the rest of us that are limited to 1TB of data (or less) or have considerably slower upload speeds than our download speeds, this is not the camera for you.

I had been in the market for a home monitoring device, and had read very positive reviews for the Samsung Smart Things Cam. In my opinion, this is the best monitoring device on the market, especially for my needs. You get a clear view of what is happening in your home.The sound and picture are phenomenal. This is especially helpful for protection, to monitor in home workers, and to monitor your kids when you are not around. The mic is so helpful, because you can communicate with family member in real time. It also monitors your home with a motion detector. I just set it to zoom in on the door, to pay close attention to this specific area of my home. In addition you can view 24 hour recorded footage for free, more if you pay for a premium subscription. The information is stored on the cloud, so that you can easily view the data. It works with either a android or apple phone, so that you can access the cam from your phone 24 hours per day. I have been telling all of my friends about this little gadget that helps to set my mind at ease. I would definitely recommend, and will be adding additional cameras for other areas of the house. Low cost, premium service provides a priceless experience when it comes to peace of mind.

I was in the market for my first indoor cam, when I came across a youtuber who reviewed this cam. By the end of the video I was sold. The feats, the price, and the fact that I am a Samsung fan, was enough for me to buy two! So far this is a dope product! Very easy to set up. Night mode is great. So crazy how much detail it is able to pick up in a completely dark room. For this to be my first cam, I'm pleased. However....I do have to say that this cam does get VERY hot to the touch. LIke really hot! Almost makes me feel like it's going to destroy itself because of it. Not sure how much heat it can take before it malfunctions. I've had the cam set up for about 4 days now and for some reason, on one day I wasn't able to access the live footage. The smart things app came kept saying that the cam was disconnected. I knew for a fact that it wasn't, but the app said otherwise. I was at work at the time, so I had to wait until i got home to see, and felt that it was extremely hot. I then unplug it and plug it back in, Basically reboot it, after that it reconnected so that I could watch a live feed from my phone. Im thinking the fact that it was soo hot could have been the reason as to why it was "not connected". Maybe it's something that can be fixed with some sort of software update. As of right now, its not a big deal for me, but i'll definitely keep track on how many time it disconnects itself. other than that....I like it.
