Pairing the device was so fast that I did it a few times before realizing that it worked. Setting up rules in the SmartThings app was easy. But, it does not work. I think this has something to do with Zigbee instead of Z-Wave. Not sure why Samsung used Zigbee but all my other Samsung devices, GE switches and outlets are z-wave. So there is no mesh network that gets back to my v2 Hub. I am stuck and not sure what to do next. There is a few-second delay from when pushing the button until the green LED flashes but I am not sure what this means. I can't recommend this yet but will do another review if I figure it out.

Worked great when buy it but after a week of use It constantly Is it disconnected from the system and that has happened to me more than three times in less than a month, solution? remove the battery and make it fit again. Another thing is that I had to replace the battery because it was in 2V despite the application indicated that the battery was 100%, is not reliable at all the button at the time you need it most does NOT work and enter the application is unavailable ... of the more than 20 original SAMSUNG ST devices that I have at home this is the only one that has disconnected me

such a versatile, yet inexpensive, addition to my smart home! i use one by my bed to turn on or off my bedside lamp, the overhead light / fan, and a secondary small electric heater for super cold nights. in addition to that, i have a routine that turns the heater on when it falls below a certain temperature and turns off when it rises above a certain temperature. without the button, none of this would have been possible. i have a crawl space which is insulated well, but several times a year it will fall close to zero and i have exposed water lines. going to add one down there to act as a thermostat for another small electric heater. the smartthings smart plugs are among the very few out there that can handle a 1500 watt heater.

I’m glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. The button is surprisingly smaller than I expected, so that’s a bonus. It took a few tries to find and pair the button, but it’s been a while since I’ve added anything new. I assumed my biggest disappointment was going to be I couldn’t toggle lights on/off with the button. However, the Smart Lighting app I already had installed on SmartThings gives you the option to toggle the setting with each button push. So with this app, I have the ability to manage three scenes, each with on/off toggle.

I have 2 of these buttons. They constantly discounnect or go into a sleep mode. I've called support and spent many hours trying to fiddle with them. Once i get them back online and working, i'm excited for a bout a day or two until they disconnect again.The juice is NOT worth the squeez. I'm guessing if you have a one room appartment where you hub is located, these could be a cool gizmo. However, if you have a 2k sq ff++ home, forget about it!

I purchased this button to replace my old ADT control panel using Samsung open/close sensors and the SmartThings Home Monitor only to find out the button cannot be used with the Home Monitor. This doesn't make any sense. I've seen workarounds using the classic app alongside the new app but this is just sloppy on Samsung's part. You shouldn't have to bounce between different versions of the same app to get things to work...

It is used with the SmartThings Hub and can be programmed to turn on a variety of SmartThings compatible devices. I use it for lights and music presently, but am researching all the other uses it has. So far it has worked perfectly and is a product I never would have thought I needed, but now I can't see me ever not needing it. All hail modern technology.

Great Button. Works as expected. It paired easily and easy to set up. I have not set up a double click or a held function but that is a nice option for future use. I use it with a smart switch outlet to turn on a lamp in my infants room. Works great every time. Only wish would be that it had a light for visual feedback. I had an old Iris button that had light feedback and it was nice but not a must.

I have had similar problems. The device initially connected to my SmartThings v2 hub easily. I configured it to control some lighting. Love the design and while it worked it was a great addition. After about 3 days it disconnected from my hub. Button would not reconnect. I pulled the battery, reset using the hole on the back, left the battery out for a day, power cycled my hub, power cycled my phone, removed the device, verified it was removed from the API website. Tried everything I could think of and then some. The button just sits there blinking green and red (btw: I feel sorry for anyone who is red/green color blind) and the apps never find the device. I'm returning it after only a week of having it and only got to use it for three days. I'm planning on buying another one to see if I can get lucky and find one that will work, but by looking at the reviews I don't have my hopes up.

Worked great when I first received it but after a week of use I hate it. It constantly disconnects from the hub and I have to take the battery out and put it back it to get it to connect again. This is useless for wanting to control the lights in my bedroom. I was hopeful and if they can fix the issue that it will be perfect.

This device was just what I needed to perform a function, however after being installed for only 4 days, the battery is indicating that it’s already down to 80%. If that rate continues, the device will be non-operative within the next two weeks. I use the button as a trigger at most once a day, so this concerns me.

I purchased 6 buttons on a whim to replace some 99 cent dash buttons so I could finally get a quick response on my lights. Boy, the first press took less than 1 second to turn the light on... and the second press never registered Went to the second button - same thing Went to a third button and the same thing - and then the first button finally triggered its status to off. It was a whopping 5 minutes apart These are now just used as temperature sensors i throw onto tables. I can't get on/off let alone long press to work reliably with my 3rd gen smart things hub, nor with home assistant/hass.io. Also note - with all 6 on a table a couple inches apart they have approximately a 5 degree spread on the reported temperature. These really couldn't be used to sense temperature for anything important like controlling a heater, air conditioner, window, skylight, etc. unless your not interested in a very specific range (ex- you want 68-73 degrees the sensor could report 62 as 68 and never heat up, or 78 as 73 and never cool down)

I have had 3 of these for a couple months now and they're borderline useless. They almost never respond to the first press. Sometimes they do though, so you can't just push it twice. You need to push and wait and see, then push again. Unacceptable.

Easy to setup, good connection across mesh network, but constantly shows as pressed. Wanted to put this in our rooms that don’t have dots to control smart bulb lamps, but it’s useless if it won’t work in SmartThings Classic.

When devices don't work properly, the first step would be to remove it from the application, reset it, and then re-add the product. There may be battery issues where the contacts may be out of position or not seated properly. Push them in firmly to reestablish the necessary contact. Also make sure the batteries are oriented correctly and are fresh. Lastly, for best results, it is recommended to use the button in the new SmartThings app, not the "classic". It worked for a week or so then start disconnecting from the hub. Pulling the battery and delete the device from the app didn't make it work again. What a waste of money. I would give it zero star if I can. Don't buy it.
