What is MU-MIMO in Samsung Connect Home?

MU-MIMO = Multiple User, Multiple input, Multiple output

 

The Connect Home has multiple antennas (ET-WV521B has 2 of each for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz; and ET-WV531B Pro has 4 of each) so that network traffic can occur simultaneously instead of queueing for faster communication.

 

When the Pro model has the SmartThings Hub enabled, one of the four 2.4 GHz antennas acts as the ZigBee radio, and only 3 antennas will be used for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. ZigBee and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi use a time-sharing scheme (alternating turns for communication quickly enough to avoid decreases in speed) to help avoid interference.
