Unfolding the Future

Samsung x IBM:
paving the way to 5G

The most highly-anticipated innovation in tech—5G, or fifth generation mobile network—is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects, and devices.

Its next-level power is said to be the pipeline through which emerging technologies Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) are converging. However, executing this and expanding it across all industries seamlessly is not an easy feat.
This challenge is what prompted IBM and Samsung to come together in 2019 to forge a collaborative platform for 5G and AI-powered enterprise solutions. Through thorough explorations of industry use cases, they aim to create an overarching ecosystem that seamlessly combines and accelerates AI, mobile devices, and robotics through the 5th generation network as part of Singapore’s Digital Economy efforts.
Singapore is embracing the 5G future and has committed to rolling out 5G standalone networks to provide coverage for at least half of Singapore by the end of 2022, with a goal to achieve nationwide coverage by the end of 2025.

Enabling customers to achieve a whole new level of productivity, intelligence, and connectivity has always been Samsung’s core goal. With this aim in mind and the brand’s leading innovative devices, the main focus now is on partnerships with other industry peers to bring these new experiences to life.
