Using the Camera from the Lock Screen on Your Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Capture photos at a moment's notice by setting your device to access the Camera app from the lock screen.

Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.  

Capture a Photo from the Lock Screen

You can quickly launch the Camera app from the lock screen using the lock screen shortcut. Camera access from the lock screen is turned on by default.

From the lock screen, touch Camera and then swipe in any direction to open the Camera app. 

Turn On Lock Screen Camera Access

The lock screen camera shortcut is turned on by default.

If you have turned it off and want to turn it back on:

  1. From the Home screen, navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch Lock screen.

    It may be necessary to switch the Settings menu to list view by touching More options > View as > List view.

  3. Mark the Camera shortcut checkbox to turn on camera access from the lock screen.
