Setting up your 2016 UHD TV for the First Time (UN**KU****)

Getting a new TV is exciting, but first you have to set it up. This guide can help you get through the initial setup so you can start enjoying your new TV!

Button Description
A. Power Power On / Off
B. 123 (Number pad) When pressed, a number strip appears on the bottom of the screen. Select numbers and then select Done to enter a numeric value. Use to change the channel, enter a PIN, enter a ZIP code, etc.
C. EXTRA While watching content, press to display extra information from the content provider.
D. Directional / Select pad Moves the focus and changes the values seen on the TV's menu. / Selects or runs a focused item. When pressed while you are watching content, detailed program information appears.
E. Return  Press to return to the previous menu. When pressed for 1 second or more, the running function is terminated. When pressed while you are watching a program, the previous channel appears.
F. Home Press to return to the Home Screen.
G. Play/Pause When pressed, the playback controls appear. Using these controls, you can control the media content that is playing.
H. Volume Move the button up or down to adjust the volume. To mute the sound, press the button. When pressed for 1 second or more, the Accessibility Shortcuts menu appears.
I. Channel Move the button up or down to change the channel. To see the Guide screen, press the button.

Setup TV

  1. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate up and down the list to select your Preferred Language. For this example, select Welcome! for English.  

  2. Select Next, to proceed to the next step.  

  3. Read the on-screen recommendation, and then select Next.   

  4. Select your wireless network. If you are using a wired network, connect the Ethernet cable to your TV.   

    If prompted, enter the wireless network password, and select Done.

  5. Once the wireless connection has been established, press the Select button to proceed to the next step.  

  6. Review the Smart Hub Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy.  Checkmark I Agree to all, to agree to all  terms and conditions.   

  7. Select OK to continue

  8. Using the on-screen number pad enter your Zip Code, then select Done.   

  9. Select the available source for your TV channels:  

    Instructions may vary depending on the source selected. For this example, select Cable or Satellite Box.

    • Cable or Satellite Box

    • Antenna

    • I don't receive a TV signal

  10. Select the TV port that the Cable or Satellite Box you want to set up is connected to.  

  11. Select your cable service provider.   

  12. Set up TV Remote to control your cable or satellite box. Follow the on-screen instructions. Select Yes to continue.   

  13. Your TV automatically identifies the devices that are connected via HDMI. Devices that are connected, via HDMI, to your TV should be turned ON during the Identification process. Once the Identification is complete, select Next.  

  14. Enter your email address to register your new smart TV and receive warranty information as well as additional guides and information.  Otherwise, select Skip to continue.   

  15. Select Start Watching TV, to finish the Initial Setup.
