Use the Smart Control Feature on Your Range
When you've had a hectic day, the last thing you want to do is get back up, even if it means your dinner will burn! No worries, the Smart Control feature lets you monitor and control your range through the SmartThings app on your phone. You can even adjust the time and oven temperature remotely, without ever getting up from the couch.
The available settings and features may vary based on the range model.
You can monitor but not remotely control the range's cooktop in SmartThings.
Connect the Range to Your Phone
Before you can use the Smart Control feature to monitor and control your range, you need to connect it to SmartThings. Don't worry, it's as easy as making a meatloaf - if not easier.
Navigate to and open SmartThings on your phone. Touch the Devices tab, and then touch ADD DEVICE. Next, touch ADD DEVICES MANUALLY, and then touch Range. From there, follow the on-screen instructions. On many range models, you will need to press the Smart Control button until AP appears. When the setup is complete, your range will be added to SmartThings.
Oven Remote Control
Once your range is connected to SmartThings, you can use Smart Control to remotely adjust your range's features. So, if you accidentally set the wrong temperature, don't stress. Here's how to fix it:
Navigate to and open SmartThings on your phone. Touch the Devices tab, and then touch your connected range. From this screen, you can remotely change the cooking mode, adjust the temperature, set a cooking time, start the oven, and so much more.
