How can I Monitor and Extend Battery Life for my Samsung Galaxy Tab E? (SM-T377x)

Battery Basics

The following are ways to charge your battery properly and safely:

  • Use only the supplied Samsung USB/charging cables and avoid third-party accessories to charge your phone.
  • Ensure the USB/charging cable is connected securely and is not being blocked by your phone cover or case.
  • Make sure the battery or charging indicator appears on the device's display when the USB/charging cable is connected.
  • Use the outlet on your wall instead of your computer for best results.
  • Disconnect the device from the USB/charging cable once the battery is fully charged.

Power Saving Tips

Your device provides options to help you save battery power. By customizing these options and deactivating certain features, you can use the device longer between charges. Following are some tips:

Change your display settings:

  • Decrease the duration of your screen timeout setting.
  • Reduce the brightness of your screen or use Automatic brightness.
  • Decrease the duration of your touch key light.
  • Turn off the Screen saver.

Turn off idle apps and services:

  • Bluetooth feature
  • Wi-Fi
  • GPS service
  • Various location services
  • NFC
  • Mobile data connection
  • Auto-sync functions
  • Smart stay and Smart Pause
  • Live wallpapers

Monitoring Battery Life

Screen display may vary depending on your mobile carrier.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Battery.
  3. The estimated past and predicted usage time is displayed. It also displays the last full charge and the estimated usage time remaining.

Power Saving Mode

This function will limit your device’s performance, limit vibration feedback, and restrict location services and most background data.

Power saving mode limits performance to conserve battery power.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Battery > Power saving mode.
  3. Then, touch the slider to turn Power saving mode on.
  4. After turning on the Power Saving mode, you can choose when to turn on the Power Saving mode by touching Start power saving.
  5. The options menu will look like the following:
    • Immediately: Goes straight into Power saving mode.
    • At 5% battery power: Starts Power saving mode when battery power is at 5% or below.
    • At 15% battery power: Starts Power saving mode when battery power is at 15% or below.
    • At 20% battery power: Starts Power saving mode when battery power is at 20% or below.
    • At 50% battery power: Starts Power saving mode when battery power is at 50% or below.

Ultra Power Saving Mode

The use of Ultra power saving mode will switch your device's screen to grayscale and turn off nonessential applications for maximum battery life usage.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Battery > Ultra power saving mode.
  3. Your screen will be displayed in grayscale. You can add apps that you would like to access during Ultra power saving mode by touching Add.
  4. To turn off the feature, touch MORE > Turn off Ultra power saving mode.

    To adjust network connections, sound, and display settings, touch MORE > Settings.
