Manage calls on your Samsung smart watch
Did you ever imagine that all those spy movies would come true? Well, they have. Depending on your smart watch, you can make and answer calls right from your wrist! You just need to make sure the watch is connected to your phone through Bluetooth or through a mobile network. With a LTE watch model like the Galaxy Watch Active2, you can even handle calls remotely.
Note: The screens and steps shown may vary by wireless service provider and your phone.
Make and answer calls on your watch
If your hands are full, you can make and answer phone calls using your watch, and then continue the conversation on your phone.
Note: You cannot make or answer calls directly on your watch unless it has a built-in mic and speaker like the Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch, and Gear S3. Calls can only be rejected with a Galaxy Fit.
On your watch, navigate to and select Phone. Tap the Keypad icon to dial a number, or tap the Contacts icon to select a secific contact.
When you're ready, tap the green phone icon to make a call. The phone will automatically begin on the connected phone. You can use your phone the way you normally do during phone calls. If you have an LTE model, you can make calls directly from the watch without being connected to your phone.
Additionally, with a Galaxy Watch Active2 you can make calls remotely over Wi-Fi in the event the Bluetooth connection between your phone and the watch disconnects.
To use this feature, you must first turn on Remote connection in the Galaxy Wearable app while your phone is connected to the Galaxy Watch Active2 through Bluetooth. Then, navigate to and open Settings on your phone and search for and select Call & text on other devices. Next, turn on the feature by tapping the switch. The connection will automatically occur remotely with your Samsung account, and the watch will appear in the list of Registered devices.
Note: Call & text on other devices currently does not work with Verizon and AT&T phones, or with the Galaxy Watch Active2 (LTE) that has active mobile service. Call forwarding will not be available.
Turn on call forwarding for your watch
Note: Call forwarding is only available on LTE models.
Once you set up call forwarding, phone calls will be forwarded to your watch, where you can answer them! And your watch doesn't even need to be connected to your phone via Bluetooth. However, Call forwarding only works on LTE watches, and you'll need to set up your LTE service first.
On your phone, navigate to and open Galaxy Wearable. Tap Settings, and then tap Auto call forwarding. Select I agree, and then tap OK. Tap the switch to turn on Call forwarding.
