Using Samsung Smart Home with Your FlexWash™ Washer (WV60M9900)

To enable this function, you must first download the Samsung Smart Home App in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, and install it on a mobile device.

The Lower washer must be used to set up the Smart Home connection. After Smart Home is connected, each washer will individually require the Smart Control feature to be enabled in order for that washer to be controlled remotely.

Installing the Smart Home App

Using the Play Store or Apple Store, download the Samsung Smart Home App.

Download Android™ App.

Download iOS™ App.

Connecting the Washer to the Smart Home App on an Android Device

  1. Sign into a Samsung Account, and then open the Smart Home App on your Android Device.

  2. While the mobile device is near the Washer, touch Add Device.  

  3. The app will list any detected appliances already on your network. If the Washer is listed, touch its icon and follow the on-screen instructions. If the Washer is not listed, touch Select other device at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Touch Washer.

  5. The app will ask which kind of washer will be connected. For the FlexWash washer, touch Washer with buttons at the bottom of the screen.

  6. The Smart Home App is now ready to authenticate the connection.

  7. Touch Smart Control on the Lower Washer until AP appears on the display.

    Smart Control on the Upper Washer will not cause AP to appear. Use Smart Control on the Lower Washer for setup.

  8. When prompted by the app, enter the network name and password that the washer will connect to.  

  9. Please wait while the Smart Home App is connecting with your Washer.

  10. The Smart Home App is now connected to your washer. Touch DONE to continue.

  11. If other Samsung accounts have connected to your washer, a notification will appear. You may choose to View members now or Skip. For this example, touch Skip.

  12. Your washer is now connected to the Smart Home App, allowing you to view the status of your washer. To control either washer, close its door(s) and touch its Smart Control button.

Connecting the Washer to the Smart Home App on an iOS™ Device

  1. While the mobile device is near the washer, touch Add device at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Sign into a Samsung account.

    The account password is not saved and will need to be manually entered every time.

  3. The app will list any detected appliances already on your network. If the Washer is listed, touch its icon and follow the on-screen instructions. If the Washer is not listed, touch Select other device at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Touch Washer.

  5. The app will ask which kind of washer will be connected. For the FlexWash washer, touch Washer with buttons at the bottom of the screen.

  6. The Smart Home App is now ready to authenticate the connection.

  7. Touch Smart Control on the Lower Washer until AP appears, and then touch Next on the mobile device.

    Smart Control on the Upper Washer will not cause AP to appear. Use Smart Control on the Lower Washer for setup.

  8. After reaching the Connecting to your device screen, do not touch Next yet. Some additional steps need to be taken first. We will return here in step 12.

  9. Press the Home button on the iOS device to return to the Home screen, and then open Settings.

  10. Touch Wi-Fi, and then touch [Washer] Samsung.

  11. (First Time Only): Enter the password for the [Washer] Samsung network. The password is 1111122222

    If this password has been previously entered, the iOS device may remember it and not require it again. A check will appear next to [Washer] Samsung once it is connected, and it will be shown at the top of the list.

  12. Once connected to [Washer] Samsung, return to the Smart Home app. Once the app is open, touch Next.

  13. When the mobile device connects to the washer, a confirmation screen will display. Touch Next to continue.

  14. Enter the network name and personal password of the home network that the washer will be connecting to. This will vary based on the network settings of the home. Touch Next.

    When inputting the password, make sure it is the one for the home network, not the 1111122222 password used in step 11.

  15. The iOS device sends the name and password of the home network (entered in step 14) directly to the washer.

    When this step is complete, the [Washer] Samsung network will automatically disappear and the iOS device will disconnect from that network as it is no longer available to connect to. This is intentional.

  16. Since the [Washer] Samsung network automatically disappeared, the iOS device will automatically reconnect to a nearby network. If this is the same as the network that was sent to the washer, the Smart Home app will automatically continue to the next step.

    If the app does not automatically continue, run the Settings app on the iOS device again, go to Wi-Fi settings, connect the iOS device to the same home network that was just identified in step 14, and then return to the Smart Home app and touch Next.

  17. Please wait while the Smart Home App is connecting with the server.

  18. The Smart Home App is now connected to your washer. Touch DONE to continue.

  19. If other Samsung accounts have connected to your washer, a notification will appear. You may choose to View members now or Skip. For this example, touch Skip.

  20. Your washer is now connected to the Smart Home App, allowing you to view the status of your washer. To control either washer, close its door(s) and touch its Smart Control button.
