Manage a Guest Network for Connect Home Using SmartThings

Once you've successfully set up a guest network on your Connect Home, you can share it and make your guests happy. Then, when the party is over, use SmartThings to manage the network's settings, or just turn off it and save it for next time.

Share Guest Network

Before you can share a guest network with everyone, make sure you've set one up.

On your phone, navigate to and open the SmartThings app. Then, touchMenu, and navigate to the Location where the Connect Home is saved. Select your Connect Home from the list of devices.

Touch More Options, and then touch Guest access. Touch your desired guest network, and then touch SHARE. Choose from the available sharing options, and then send the info to your guests.

Turn Off Guest Network

After the party is over, you can turn off your guest network. Just follow these steps:

On your phone, navigate to and open the SmartThings app. Then, touch Menu, and navigate to the Location where the Connect Home is saved. Select your Connect Home from the list of devices.

Touch More Options, touch Guest access, and then touch the slider next to your desired guest network. The network will remain off until the next time you activate it.

Change Guest Network's Name and Password

Maybe you are having a family get-together soon. Instead of creating a whole new guest network, you can edit the one you already made.

On your phone, navigate to and open the SmartThings app. Then, touch Menu, and navigate to the Location where the Connect Home is saved. Select your Connect Home from the list of devices.

Touch More Options, and then touch Guest access. Select the guest network that you want to edit. Touch Name and enter a new network name. Then, touch Password and enter a new password. When you're finished, touch DONE to save.
