Use the Gallery app on your Galaxy phone
Leave that bulky photo album at home. Instead, use your phone to relive all those precious memories. With the Gallery app, you can view, edit, and manage your pictures and albums right on your phone.
Note: Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version, and phone model.
If you spent an hour trying to take that perfect selfie, you can look back at your hard work by viewing it in Gallery.
Navigate to and open Gallery, and then tap the Pictures tab. Tap the thumbnail of the photo or video you want to view.
To search for a specific picture, tap the Search icon in the upper right corner. You may search for a picture by its tag, album name, or other details.
On newer phones, there is an option to group similar-looking pictures together. When this happens, not all of your images will appear in the Picture tab; instead, you'll see a small number (i.e., 2, 3, or so on) in the corner of some image thumbnails. Tap the thumbnail to view the images that have been grouped together.
If you do not wish to use this feature and would like all your pictures to display, simply tap the Group similar images icon at the top of the screen. It looks like a grid.
You don't need a degree in graphic design to enhance your photos. Edit them right on your phone.
From Gallery, tap the thumbnail of a photo or video you want to edit. Tap Edit (the pencil icon), and then use the available tools to adjust the picture. To undo or redo edits, tap the Undo or Redo icon. Tap Reset to undo all your edits. To save edits, tap Save.
Have a personal hobby that you're always documenting? Put all those photos in one place, so you can look at them again later.
From Gallery, touch and hold an image to select it. Tap More Options, and then tap Copy to album to copy the images to a different album. Or, tap Move to album to cut and paste the images into a different album. Then, select the album you want to move or paste the photo into.
To create a new album, tap Create album. Enter the name of the album, and then tap Create.
Your friend photobombed an otherwise great picture. Delete their prank in just a few steps.
From Gallery, tap your desired album, and then touch and hold the thumbnail of the photo(s) you want to delete. Tap Delete, and then tap Move to trash again to confirm.
If you want to permanently delete images from the Trash, open Gallery, and then tap More options (the three vertical dots). Tap Trash, and then tap Empty. Tap Empty Trash to confirm.
With so many photos, your Gallery is becoming a little disorganized. Just create an album to get rid of the clutter. From Gallery, tap Albums, tap More options (the three veritcal dots), and then tap Create album.
Enter the desired name for your new album, and then tap Create. To add pictures to your new album, tap the album. Tap Add, and then tap Pictures. Select the pictures you want to add, and then tap Done.
Show off that amazing day you had in the city by sharing a story. Just follow these steps to create a story:
From Gallery, tap Stories, tap More options (the three vertical dots), and then tap Create story. Enter your desired name for the story, and then tap Create. Select the desired photos for your new story, and then tap Done.
Post a picture or video to Instagram
On the S10 and Note10 series, the Gallery app is connected to Instagram! With all your files in one place, you'll be able to find your favorite pictures or videos more easily. And once you do, you can post them directly to Instagram.
First, make sure Instagram is installed on your phone, and that you are logged into your Instagram account. Next, navigate to and open Gallery. Select a picture or video you want to post, and then tap the Instagram icon (it will be next to the Trash icon).
Depending on where you want to post the picture to, tap either Feed or Story. The Instagram app will automatically open. From here, edit and post the picture or video the way you normally would.
Note: The Instagram camera mode automatically compresses high-resolution photos higher than (2020 x 1080) when uploading to the app. A user cannot select picture resolution using the built-in Instagram mode in the Camera app or in the Instagram app.
