Troubleshoot Gear IconX and Gear IconX (2018)

Troubleshoot Unresponsive Earbuds

If your earbuds are not working, try the following solutions:

  • The battery may be completely discharged. Charge the battery completely before using the earbuds.

  • If an earbud’s touch-sensitive sensor does not make contact with your ear, the earbud may not work. If you do not hear a sound informing you that the earbuds are detected, remove the earbuds from your ears and put them in again.

  • If the touchpad is unresponsive, try resetting the earbuds.

Troubleshoot Connection

Read on if you're having trouble pairing Gear IconX with your phone.

  • Make sure there are no obstacles, such as walls or electrical equipment, between the devices.

  • Make sure the latest version of the Samsung Gear app is installed on your phone. If necessary, update the Samsung Gear app to the latest version.

  • Make sure your earbuds and the connected phone are within the maximum Bluetooth range (approximately 16 feet). The distance may vary depending on the environment the devices are used in.

Troubleshoot Audio Quality

If you are having issues with the audio quality on your earbuds, give these solutions a try:

  • Wireless network services may be disabled due to issues with the service provider's network. Make sure to keep the earbuds away from electromagnetic waves.

  • Make sure your earbuds and the connected phone are within the maximum Bluetooth range (approximately 16 feet). The distance may vary depending on the environment the devices are used in.

  • You may experience drops in volume or noise, depending on the connected phone's volume. To avoid this, adjust the connected phone's sound.
