Remove a Device from SmartThings Wifi

Removing connected SmartThings devices on the SmartThings app

Did you just get a replacement SmartThings device and want to remove the old one? Just like adding your SmartThings devices is a cinch, so is removing them. 

Remove a Device

It’s time to give that device the boot. If you change your mind, you can always add it again.

Navigate to and open the SmartThings app. Then, touch Menu, and navigate to the Location where the SmartThings Tracker is saved, and then touch Devices. Touch More Options > Edit, and then touch Remove next to the device you want to remove. Touch Done when finished.

Note: You can only delete your own devices and devices in locations that belong to you. Deleting a device will also remove it from any automations or scenes it belongs to.
