Remap the Bixby key to open an app or run a command
Just like how Bixby can help with different things on your phone, the Bixby key can be used for multiple purposes as well. You can choose what happens when you press the Bixby key once or twice: quickly open your inbox or prepare your phone for your daily commute by running a quick command. Just remember that pressing and holding the Bixby key will still always open Bixby Voice.
Note: This feature is only available for devices running on Android Pie OS.
Remap the Bixby key
Thanks to a recent update, you can now remap the Bixby key to open any app of your choice or run a quick command.
Open Bixby Assistant Home by pressing the Bixby key. Then, tap More options (the three vertical dots), and then tap Settings. Tap Bixby key, and then select an option.
You can use a single or double press to open Bixby. If you choose to open Bixby with a single press, you can double press to open another app or run a quick command - and vice versa. For example, tap Double press to open Bixby, and then tap Use single press. Tap the switch, and choose what app to open or what quick command to run when you you single press the Bixby key.
The above instructions won't work on the Note10. Instead, the Note10's Side Key can be remapped to open different apps or perform different functions, including opening Bixby.
Note: This function may be turned off when you reset Bixby or deactivate chosen set app or quick command.
