Add earbud widgets to your Galaxy phone

With the earbud widgets on your phone for your Galaxy Buds and newer models like the Galaxy Buds2, you can add widgets to help you check up on your earbuds. For example, you can see your earbuds’ battery status and even turn off the earbuds’ touchpads if you need to. You can also use the widgets to enable Active noise canceling and Ambient sound.

Note: The earbuds must be connected to the phone via Bluetooth in order to use the widget.

Add widgets for your Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds+

You can use widgets for your Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds+.

  1. Press and hold a Home screen on your phone, and then tap Widgets.

  2. Swipe left to find the Galaxy Buds or Galaxy Buds+ widgets, and then tap them. There are two widgets to choose from:

    • Battery info will let you know the current battery percentage of each earbud and the charging case. It will also open the Galaxy Wearable app when selected.

    • Quick control allows you to select Ambient sound when using your Galaxy Buds+. You can also select Block touches to lock the earbuds’ touchpad.

  3. Touch and hold the widget you’d like to add, and then move it around your Home screen. You can place the widget on the screen by releasing it.

  4. If you don’t like the widget’s location, touch and hold it, and then drag it to your new desired location.

  5. To change some of the widget's settings, touch and hold it. A popup menu will appear. Tap Widget settings to choose the widget’s background color and transparency.

  6. Tapping Remove from Home will delete the widget.

Add widgets for your Galaxy Buds Live

Adding widgets to your Home screen will help you keep track of certain things while you’re wearing your Galaxy Buds Live. If you’re planning on using your earbuds all day, you can add the Battery info widget so you’ll know when they need to be charged.

  1. To get started, press and hold a Home screen on your phone, and then tap Widgets

  2. Swipe left to find the Galaxy Buds Live widgets, and then tap them. There are two widgets to choose from:

    • Battery info will let you know the current battery percentage of each earbud and the charging case. It will also open the Galaxy Wearable app when selected.

    • Quick control allows you to select Active noise canceling without opening the Galaxy Wearable app or touching your earbuds. You can also select Block touches to lock the earbuds’ touchpad.

  3. Touch and hold the widget you’d like to add, and then move it around your Home screen. You can drop the widget on the screen by releasing it.

  4. If you don’t like the widget’s location, touch and hold it, and then drag it to your new desired location.

  5. To change some of the widget's settings, touch and hold it. A popup menu will appear. Tap Settings to choose the widget’s background color and transparency. If you have Dark mode enabled, you can match the widget’s color by tapping the switch.

  6. Tapping Remove will delete the widget from the Home screen.

Add widgets for your Galaxy Buds Pro

There are two widgets available for your Galaxy Buds Pro. You can add them to a Home screen if you’d like to quickly check your buds’ battery status or lock the touchpads.

  1. Press and hold a Home screen on your phone, and then tap Widgets.

  2. Swipe left to find the Galaxy Buds Pro widgets, and then tap them. There are two widgets to choose from:

    • Battery info will let you know the current battery percentage of each earbud as well as the charging case. You can tap the widget to open the Galaxy Wearable app.

    • Quick control will let you enable Active noise canceling and Ambient sound. Tap the noise control icon to cycle through the options, or turn off noise controls if you wish. You can also tap the Block touches icon if you need to lock the earbuds’ touchpads.

  3. Once you've chosen the widget you like, you can add it to the Home screen by tapping Add. You can also select a background color and transparency effect for the widget. If you have Dark mode enabled, you can match the widget’s color by tapping the switch. Tap Save when you’re finished, and the widget will be added.

  4. If you don’t like the widget’s location, touch and hold it, and then drag it to your new desired location.

Add widgets for your Galaxy Buds2

The Galaxy Buds2 widget stores a bunch of convenient bud settings all in one widget. You can see both the buds' and case's battery percentage. Not only that, you can turn on Active noise canceling, Ambient mode, or Touch controls.

  1. Press and hold a Home screen on your phone, and then tap Widgets.

  2. Swipe left to find the Galaxy Buds2 widget.

  3.  Tap it and then tap Add to make the widget appear on your phone's Home screen.

  4. You can also select a background color and transparency effect for the widget. If you have Dark mode enabled, you can match the widget’s color by tapping the switch. Tap Save when you’re finished, and the widget will be added.

  5. If you don’t like the widget’s location, touch and hold it, and then drag it to your new desired location.

  6. To use the sound settings, tap the earbud icon on the left side of the widget. Tapping it once will activate Active noise canceling, and tapping it twice will turn of Ambient sound mode. Tap it one more time to turn off all sound modes.

  7. To enable or disable the buds' touch controls, tap the Touch controls icon.
