Broadcast audio from your Galaxy phone

Auracast is a Bluetooth feature on the Galaxy phones that allows you to share your phone's sound with other nearby audio devices, such as the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and newer models like the Galaxy Buds4 Pro. For example, if your friend is using compatible Bluetooth headphones, they'll be able to listen in on your podcast, music playlist, or video. Plus, there's no need to be concerned about strangers joining your broadcast. You can set up a password for your broadcast to block unwanted guests from accessing it.

Share a broadcast

Audio Broadcast is a feature that allows you to share music, voice, or other sounds from your Galaxy S26 or other phones running One UI 8.5 or higher with people nearby. It uses the Auracast standard, enabling unlimited listeners as long as they are within range of the signal.

  1. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Connected devices, and then tap Audio broadcast.
  2. Tap the Share tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the type of broadcast you'd like to share: Media or Voice.
  4. Tap the Edit icon (pencil) to customize your broadcast's name and password (optional). The broadcast name will be visible to others connecting via Audio broadcast or Auracast.
  5. Tap the Start broadcast icon (it looks like an antenna) to begin.
    Note: Review the permission pop-up, and then tap OK.
  6. Start playing audio or use your phone's microphone to broadcast. For example, open apps like Spotify or YouTube Music to share a playlist.
  7. Nearby listeners with Bluetooth headphones (such as a pair of  Galaxy Buds4 Pro) can join your broadcast by providing the password.
  8. To end the broadcast, tap the Stop broadcast icon (the X) on the broadcast screen. This will disconnect all listeners.

Search for and listen to a broadcast

If you want to listen to a nearby broadcast, you can easily search for it using your phone. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled, and your Galaxy Buds are connected.

  1. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Connections, and then tap Bluetooth.
  2. Find your Galaxy Buds under Paired devices. Then, tap the Settings icon next to your Galaxy Buds.
  3. Tap Listen to audio broadcast.
  4. Choose the type of broadcast you'd like to hear: Media or Voice.
  5. Next, tap the broadcast’s name, and then enter the password when prompted. Tap Connect.
  6. Once connected, you'll hear the broadcast's audio through your Galaxy Buds.
  7. To stop listening and leave the broadcast, tap the Leave icon (the X)  on the screen.

Share a broadcast

Auracast allows you to share your phone’s audio content. It’s similar to a radio broadcast!

  1. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Connections, and then tap Bluetooth.
  2. Tap More options (the three vertical dots), and then tap Broadcast sound using Auracast.

  3. You can edit your broadcast’s name and password if desired. Your broadcast’s name will be visible to others who are connecting via Auracast.
  4. Then, tap Start broadcast.

  5. Then, start playing audio from your phone. For instance, you can launch apps like Spotify or YouTube Music to share a playlist.
  6. Nearby listeners with Bluetooth headphones (such as a pair of Galaxy Buds3 Pro) will be able to listen in on your broadcast. However, they will need to provide the password before they can connect to your broadcast.
  7. To end the broadcast, tap Stop broadcast on the broadcast screen. This will also disconnect the broadcast’s listeners from your device.

Search for and listen to a broadcast

If you’d like to listen to a nearby broadcast, you can search for the broadcast using your phone. To do so, your Galaxy Buds must be connected to the Galaxy Wearable app and have Bluetooth enabled.

  1. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Connections, and then tap Bluetooth.
  2. Find your Galaxy Buds under Paired devices. Then, tap the Settings icon next to your Galaxy Buds.
  3. Tap Find a broadcast or Listen to Auracast broadcast.

  4. Next, tap the broadcast’s name, and then enter the password when prompted. Tap Connect.

  5. You will be connected to the broadcast and will be able to hear the broadcast’s audio through your Galaxy Buds.
  6. To stop listening and leave the broadcast, tap Leave at the top of the screen.
