Samsung microwave keeps beeping

Beeping is a common function on microwaves. It beeps when you touch it, when it's done cooking, and, on some models, when your food is done but you haven't removed it yet. If the microwave is beeping when you're not using it, and pressing the Stop/Clear button doesn't stop it, there are a couple things you can try.

Samsung microwave keeps beeping

1

Power cycle the microwave.

Unplug the microwave or switch off the circuit at the breaker box. Wait 60 seconds, and then restore power.

If you can hear the beeping even when the microwave does not have power, then the beeping is not coming from the microwave.

Important
Do not run the microwave completely empty, as it may damage the microwave.
2

Run the microwave for a few seconds, and then press Stop/Clear.

Place a cup of water in the microwave and run a cycle for a few seconds. When the cycle completes, wait for the chime to sound, and then press Stop/Clear.
3

Mute the microwave.

You can use the Sound On/Off feature to mute the microwave. It is usually part of the Options or Settings menu.

For example, press the Options button, and then press the number button that corresponds to the Sound On/Off function. In this example, we'll use number 3. Next, press number 2 to indicate you want to turn sounds off, and then press ENTER/START to save your choice.

The steps to adjust Sound On/Off vary by model. If this example doesn't match your model, check your user manual for your model's instructions.

4

Request service.

If the beeping continues or returns, visit the Support Center to request service.
