When your dishwasher turns on by itself, it is nothing to be alarmed about, there is actually a very simple explanation. The capacitive touch buttons on your dishwasher are very sensitive. While loading and unloading the dishwasher, brushing against the control panel could set a cycle. The dishwasher will start by itself once the door is closed.

A Leakage Error (either LE, LC, or certain combinations of blinking lights) will turn the dishwasher on, and it will not turn off while it attempts to drain the water away. If there is an error code on the dishwasher, troubleshoot it first.

Confirm that the display is turned off.

If it is on, select Power to turn it off.

Make sure the control panel is clean.

If you are sure it has not been touched, but the dishwasher turns on, or other buttons act as if they are being touched, clean the control panel with a warm, damp cloth. If there is a build-up of detergent or residue on the panel, it could cause the buttons to malfunction.

Request service.

If the dishwasher is still turning on by itself, visit the Support Center to request service.
