Type 1:

Top loader detergent drawer

A two compartment dispenser.

  • Wing distributor (A): For the main wash. Apply the main-wash detergent, water softener, soaking detergent, bleach, or stain remover. Please use detergent powder for this type of drawer, and only use the recommended amount as noted by the manufacturer.
  • Rinse cap (B): For the fabric softeners. Apply additives such as fabric softener.

Type 2:

Type 2 top loader detergent drawer.

A three-compartment dispenser.

  • Softener compartment (A): Add a recommended amount of fabric softener into the softener compartment.
  • Liquid detergent compartment (B): Apply a recommended amount of liquid detergent into the compartment. To use powdered detergent, remove the liquid detergent compartment. The washing machine does not dispense the powdered detergent from the liquid detergent compartment.
  • Bleach compartment (C): Add nonchlorine bleach as instructed by the manufacturer.
1 Always use a low suds detergent.

Low suds detergent is designed for automatic washing machines. It is also highly recommended to use HE (High Efficiency) Detergent for ALL Samsung washing machines.

2 Use warm water (at least 40°C).

Using warm water will help dissolve the detergent. If you use cold water, detergent will not dissolve properly and can remain on your garments, hose, or spin basket, causing contamination of your clothes.

3 Do not use excessive amounts of detergent.

Using excessive amounts of detergent will not improve the effectiveness of your wash. It can actually cause damage instead if not rinsed thoroughly enough, as detergent residue can be left on your clothing. Each brand can have different recommended amounts of detergent, so please follow the suggested guidelines from your detergent manufacturer.

4 Rinse your clothes sufficienty.

If clothes are not rinsed sufficiently, detergent residue can remain on your clothing and cause bad odours. This is especially important for if you use powder detergent. If you suspect that your clothes have not been rinsed thoroughly enough from the cycle, you can always operate a rinse cycle afterwards.

5 Detergent must be put in the detergent drawer.

Detergents must be put in the detergent drawer. If using powder detergent, putting it directly on the laundry can cause discolouration.
