How to set up safety and emergency on your Galaxy Watch

It's best to be ready at all times. Your Samsung smart watch contains capabilities like fall detection and SOS messaging that might be helpful if you ever need emergency aid. In the unlikely event that you do encounter a genuine emergency, you may send SOS messages to designated contacts to let them know where you are and how to locate you. Your medical information can be immediately accessed to aid first responders if you ever require medical attention. Learn how to use your Samsung smart watch in an emergency by reading the instructions below.

With the SOS feature on your watch, quickly pressing your watch's Home key (Power key) will send alerts and calls to your assigned emergency contacts.

1 On your connected phone, open the Galaxy Wearable app.
2 Tap Watch Settings, tap Safety, and tap Emergency.
3 Tap for hard fall detection.
4 Tab Add Emergency Contacts Add number.
5 Select your preferred contacts.
6 Press Make an SOS call and choose your preferred number.
1 Choose the mood to suit your needs.
2 Tap on hard fall detection, For everyday use, select always or physical activity

For everyday use, select Always or During physical activity.

To detect falls only while you workout, choose Only during workouts.

 

3 With fall detection on, the Galaxy Watch can assist you in various emergencies.
  • Such as a cycling crush.
  • Falling off a mountain.
  • Falling off the bed in sleep.
1 After a fall, you'll be notified with a sound and vibration pop-up alert.

If you don't respond in 60 seconds, the emergency contact will receive a pop-up call notification along with an SOS message. With the SOS message, your current location will be shared.

2 For quick help, turn on SOS with the Home Key.

Set the number of presses and adjust the countdown setting.

3 Once set, simply press the Home Key 3 or 4 times to send a quick alert.

Now  your emergency contact has received your SOS message, the message will include:

  • Your current location.
  • Your watch's battery percentage.
