How to troubleshoot Google Play Store downloading errors

Not being able to download an app from the Google Play Store, or it shows some random error message? This is probably the most common problem faced by Android users getting stuck with the 'downloading' or 'pending' message. Yet not to worry; here are a few methods by which you can easily resolve such issues related to the Google Play Store.

Before you try out below recommendations as to your solutions, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated with the latest version. Please check how to update your mobile device's software in the following order. 

 

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. 

If there is insufficient storage space, downloading won't work. Check the storage space as shown below.

 Go to Setting > select Battery and Device care.

Tap Storage > Check the available storage. If your device has less than 1GB of storage available, you will need to free up some space

 

Deleting data and cache can help your Google Play Store fix the downloading problem. You may follow below steps to clear data and cache. 

Step 1. Go to Settings and select Apps.

Step 2. From the list of Apps that appears, select Google Play Store.

Step 3. Tap Storage > Clear data or Clear cache

It is important that you are connected to a strong and stable connection when trying to download apps or load the Google Play Store.

If you are using your mobile data, you will need to ensure you have enabled mobile data.

 If your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network but there is an exclamation mark next to the Wi-Fi symbol in the status bar, you may not be able to access the internet. If you continue to have connection issues, you may need to contact your internet provider.

 

Press and hold the power button or the power and volume down button

Tap Restart , Wait for the device to power off and on again

Tap General Management > Tap Date and Time

In older operating systems you'll find this option in Settings > Date & Time.

Tap the switch to activate Automatic date and time 

Go to Settings > Tap Accounts and backup >

In older operating systems it is called Cloud and Accounts or Accounts.

Tap Manage accounts, then tap your Google Account> Tap Remove Account. Depending on the operating system this option may be under the More options icon on the top right-hand side of the screen

Tap Remove Account to confirm >Tap Add Account

Tap Google>Enter your Google Account details 

Follow the onscreen instructions to finish adding your Google Account
