[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this tumble dryer from Samsung for product testing purposes. I have to say I do love this Samsung Tumble Dryer. Not only is it smart and shiny it does the job very well and doesn’t take as long as my old dryer. I love the fact that there’s a light inside the machine!! it’s now easy to see any socks left lying inside. Its super quiet, it does make noise but it so quiet and it’s a slightly different kind of noise to my old dryer more like a quiet helicopter. One huge and absolutely amazing bonus of this dryer for me is that it does not kick out loads of hot steamy air when drying. In comparison to my old condenser dryer that used to steam up the room and made it feel like a sauna, I was pleasantly surprised to find no discernible heat coming out the vent at the front. The machine itself is nice to look at, the door is huge and can be fitted to open either way, a light comes on inside and there is a double filter just inside the machine. I was quite surprised to find a coated metal tray inside the packaging which is actually a drying rack. You fit it in the holes just inside the machine and can place trainers or soft toys or an item you don’t want to spin around on the tray and then set the machine to dry. The one downer is I have to take this out and store it somewhere while a regular load is on, but its not a problem as such. The controls are easy to use and consist of a large ergonomic knob and several touch spots. The programs are on a screen and you use the large knob to scroll through them, you can change settings within the program to say put wrinkle protect on or make things soft and fluffy. You can also use the inbuilt Wifi and view/select the programs and see at what stage of the program you’re at by using the SmartThings app. If you have a Samsung washing machine that also uses the SmartThings app it can actually recommend the drying program based upon what cycle you just used on your washing machine. Very cool ! The one minor con is that some of the programs are for smaller loads for example a synthetics load is for 4.5Kg. I thought that as it was a 9Kg dryer that every load could be upto 9kg. Unfortunately not. That said I haven’t actually needed to use one of the smaller programmes with a load that is too big, so all good so far. When you’ve selected the program, you have to wait a couple of seconds to tell you how long the drying cycle will take. It’s a shame that this information can’t be displayed at same time as cycle name. When I first started using this dryer, I didn’t believe it was drying because there wasn’t the normal noise or heat out the vent. I was mistaken, I have had no problems with the drying functionality of this dryer. Clothes were perfectly dry and faster than my old dryer. I love that I get notified on my smart watch or phone when the drying cycle has finished courtesy of the SmartThings app. So that washing is straight out of the machine before it gets creased. The SmartThings app also allows you to monitor the power usage. There is a water drawer at the top of the machine which is easy to empty and the fluff filters are also easy to empty. Like the Samsung washing machine it plays a charming melody on switching on or off. It has a large 9Kg capacity which I have yet to fill even when I put in the bed sheets. It can even be attached to a water waste pipe if you are lucky enough to have one nearby, unfortunately I’m not but its not an issue. I love drying my towels in here on the soft and fluffy setting, perfect for me, although my husband prefers his stiff and cardboardy, oh well can’t please everyone. Overall very happy with the Dryer.

I suggest downloading the full PDF manual. Even then, there were difficulties to resolve. For instance, establishing a Wi-Fi connexion to SmartThings was problematic because the instructions provided were unclear. Similarly, a rack is included which will be useful but the instructions for its use were confusing. I had never come across one before and tried drying clothes on the rack when this was unnecessary. It came away from the housing during a spin and I had to stop the cycle to prevent any damage to the drier. The drier looks stylishly modern and is packed with features. It is quiet running, has a great capacity of up to 9 kg and a choice of left or right door opening. The heat pump drier is more efficient and gentler at drying than condenser or vented alternatives and results in an energy efficiency ranking that is both green and economical in terms of electricity usage. My smart meter supported this, showing no drastic upward surges when using the machine. It is important to remove fluff after every drying and I found the lint box easy to deal with. The same is required of the water container which is located on the front of the drier at a very convenient level. A great improvement on other machines where you empty this at floor level. The control panel is uncluttered, very intuitive and easy to operate. There is a comprehensive list of cycles and additional functions that are accessed by scrolling through the control panel knob. There is a quick dry cycle that takes only 39 minutes as well as much longer, intensive cycles. An anti-wrinkle feature is available to stop clothing creasing. The hygiene care cycle can sanitise a load by eliminating almost all germs and dust mites. My first load produced poor results. I needed to use two additional cycles before the clothing was dry enough. I think I chose the wrong programme. Subsequent loads came out fresh and dry. The SmartThings app was useful because you can control your wash remotely. I have found the auto-cycle link with the washing machine excellent. This allowed the washing machine to recommend the right setting for tumble drying. It is an example of AI at its best, takes the hassle out of tumble-drying clothes and produced brilliant results. There is a learning curve to negotiate when using this appliance to maximum potential soit is worth sticking with it. This is an ultra-modern, intelligent tumble drier that I can thoroughly recommend. It is efficient, economical and impressively quiet in its operations.

Je suis très content de ce produit. L'utilisation est assez facile et pas mal de fonctions qui permettent d'utiliser l'appareil suivant les vêtements qu'on mets dedans, afin de faire des économies. La consommation est de +/- 40% de moins par rapport à mon ancien appareil. De plus il est très silencieux ce qui nous permets de le faire tourner même s'il est tard sans réveiller personne. Ce qui m'as vraiment étonné c'est l'odeur de linge frais lorsqu'on est près de l'appareil. Je n'avais jamais eu cela avec mon appareil précédent.

Wie bei der Waschmaschine ist leider auch der Trockner genau 2 Jahre und 1 Monat nach dem Lieferdatum kaputtgegangen. Die elektronischen Geräte, die ich aus Samsun gekauft habe, haben bisher immer problemlos funktioniert. Bei den Haushaltsgeräten wurde ich jedoch leider enttäuscht. Dass beide Geräte nur wenige Wochen nach Ablauf der Garantie defekt geworden sind, ist sehr ärgerlich.

I received this tumble dryer from Samsung for product testing. I would say I’m fairly happy with this machine, but there most certainly are some improvements Samsung would need to make, to make me totally appreciate, and convince me to spend on a high value purchase of this type. Points for improvement; ·       It takes a little get used to, and not the most easy of machines to understand, setting and instructions wise. Needs Improvement. ·       Super Speed function, almost never dries your clothes, even on a very small load ·       It never really provides a good heat, a lot of your clothes always seem to be creased. ·       Its not as quick as advertised, Good points are; ·       Towels are certainly fluffy ·       Its very quiet ·       Looks Elegant and stylish ·       Love the Wifi connection All in all, it’s a good dryer for looks and to match the washing machine.
