Whether you've set up Smart Lock options in advance, need to perform a factory reset, or require the help of a Samsung Service Centre, there are solutions available. However, it's essential to understand that some of these methods may result in the loss of data, so precautionary measures like regular backups are always recommended.

The Smart Lock feature on Galaxy devices offers a convenient way to bypass your PIN, pattern, or password under certain conditions. These include on-body detection (keeping the phone unlocked while it's on you), establishing a trusted location (like your home or office), or connecting with a trusted Bluetooth device (such as your car's system or a wearable).

It's important to note that Smart Lock must be set up while you have access to your device, as it cannot be enabled after you've forgotten your access credentials. If Smart Lock was activated prior to forgetting your PIN, pattern, or password, your phone can automatically unlock when one of the predefined conditions is met. For instance, if you've designated your home as a trusted location, your device will recognize when you're at this location and unlock itself automatically.

If you're unable to unlock your phone or tablet, a factory reset through Google's Find My Device can be a last resort. Follow these steps for a factory reset:

1 Access the website: Visit the Find My Device website and enter your Google account email. Click Next.
2 Enter password: Input your Google account password and select Next.
3 Select your device: Your devices will be listed on the left. Choose the one you need to reset.

Note: If multiple devices are linked to your account, pick the correct one.

4 Initiate erase: Click on ERASE DEVICE on the left panel.

5 Confirm erasure: A prompt will appear with information about the reset. Confirm by selecting ERASE DEVICE again.

6 Verify your account: You'll be asked to verify your Google account. Enter the necessary details and select Next.
7 Final confirmation: You'll get a final prompt to confirm the erasure of your device's data. Click on Erase.

Note: Keep in mind, after the factory reset, your device will be in its original state, just like when it was new. You'll need to set it up again, including reinstalling apps and restoring backed-up data.

If you’ve lost access to your device due to forgotten account details and have exhausted other recovery options, a visit to a Samsung Service Centre or your phone carrier’s store is your next step. Here, upon presenting proof of purchase, service staff can assist with a factory reset of your device. Be aware that this process will completely erase all data on your phone.
