Automatically improve photos with Edit suggestions on your Samsung Galaxy
Samsung Galaxy devices include a range of Galaxy AI tools designed to help you enhance your photos and videos. One of these features, Edit suggestions, analyzes your images in the Gallery app and recommends quick improvements such as background blur, remastering and reflection removal. With just a few taps, you can apply these suggested edits and create high-quality results in seconds.
Note:
- Edit suggestions supports JPG, PNG, GIF, and MP4 files.
- Results and quality may vary depending on the original image or video.
- Suggested features depend on the content of the photo or video.
- Some features (such as Long exposure, 24 hr time-lapse, and Highlights) may only appear while your phone is charging and after enough time has passed since the shot was taken.
- Due to the nature of AI processing, results may differ each time you apply an edit.
- Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version and device model.
Unlocking your creative potential with the intelligent photo tools presented in this article requires a Samsung Galaxy device running One UI 8. This version of One UI was first introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, S25 FE, Tab S11 Ultra, and Tab S11. As the software update continues to roll out, more Galaxy devices will receive One UI 8, allowing even more users to explore intelligent photo editing features.

With a few simple steps, Galaxy device users can quickly access the suggestions for editing any of their photos and videos.
Step 1. Open the Gallery app > select a photo.
Step 2. Tap the Details icon.
Step 3. Tap on any of the Edit suggestion features to enter that mode.
The feature will provide suggested editing options for every analyzed photo based on its assessment. Below are two examples of the available Edit suggestions.
Background blur
- Blurs the background to draw attention to the faces or pets in the foreground.
* This feature is suggested when the photo was not taken in portrait mode and the person or animal in the image is above a certain size.
Remaster
- Improves the resolution, lighting, colour, and other elements of your photos.
* Move the directional arrows from side to side to see the before and after comparison of the remastered image.
Other potential Edit suggestions include:
Erase reflections
- Takes out unnecessary reflections and fills in the space to match the surrounding background.
Erase shadows
- Removes undesired shadows and fills in the space to match the surrounding background.
Remove moire
- Increases image clarity by smoothing out the unwanted striped pattern within a photo.
Long exposure
- Captures the traces of moving objects while showing still elements with razor sharp clarity in videos and motion photos.
Colourise
- Adds colour to black and white images.
Star trails
- Applies light trail effect to stars when shooting astronomy videos.
24 hr time-lapse
- Takes photos of landscapes with sky (no people) for 24 hours and compiles the photos into a short video.
Highlights
- Provides a summarised video clip of footage that contains dynamic movement.
Super slow-mo
- Creates slow motion video clips with forward, reverse, and forward/reverse combination effects.
* Suggested only for videos shot with the camera’s Super slow-mo feature.
