Your Galaxy phone can detect certain gestures and perform actions automatically. For example, you can mute alarms and incoming calls by flipping the device over. The feature is usually enabled by default, but it is a good idea to check that it is turned on.
Note:
- Once enabled, you can mute an active alarm or incoming call by placing your hand over the screen or turning the phone face down.
- When you mute an alarm this way, it is snoozed based on your alarm settings. It will ring again after the set interval.
In addition to muting alarms with gestures, it is important to know how to dismiss or snooze them manually. This ensures you can manage alarms in any situation. For more details on creating and customizing alarms, see our guide on setting up an alarm.
When an alarm goes off, you can quickly and easily dismiss it or snooze it, whether your Samsung Galaxy device is in use or locked.
When you receive a call, you can choose to answer or decline it directly from your screen. Swipe the Accept or Decline icon in any direction to answer or reject the call. If you prefer not to interact with the screen, you can also use gestures to mute the ringtone without dismissing the call.
