Galaxy Tab A (2019) - Night mode (SM-T510)

You might not notice during the day, but late at night, your tablet might as well be the sun. The bright screen makes you squint and can keep you awake until the wee hours. Don't worry, your tablet has the solution: Night mode. Set a darker theme on your tablet so you can use it more comfortably at night.

Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for tablets sold in other countries.

When you use Night Mode, all your phone’s menus, settings, and preloaded Samsung apps will use a darker theme. From Settings, search for and select Night mode. Tap Night mode, and then tap Turn on now.

You can also swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel, and then navigate to and tap the Night mode icon. The icon will glow blue when Night mode is on.

Third-party apps will not be affected. If the option is grayed out update the tablet's software.

Maybe you like Night mode to come on right when the sun sets. You can set a schedule to suit your needs.

Set a schedule for night mode

From Settings, search for and select Night mode. Tap Night mode, and then tap Turn on as scheduled. You can choose Sunset to sunrise or you can also choose Custom schedule to set your own schedule for night mode. If you have chosen Custom schedule, tap Start time, select your desired time, and then tap Done; next, tap End time, select a time, and then tap Done.

Even if you set a scheduled time for night mode, you can still turn it on or off manually whenever you want.
