Unlocking your creative potential with the intelligent photo tools presented in this article requires a Samsung Galaxy device running One UI 8. This version of One UI was first introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, S25 FE, Tab S11 Ultra, and Tab S11. As the software update continues to roll out, more Galaxy devices will receive One UI 8, allowing even more users to explore intelligent photo editing features.
Here’s a list of devices that were released with One UI 8 or are expected to receive the update:

The Edit suggest feature uses intelligent analysis to recognize what could make your photo look even better. It can automatically detect elements like faces, backgrounds, or lighting and offer tailored suggestions such as Live effect, Background blur or Remaster. Each suggestion is designed to help you enhance your image with just a tap. No advanced editing skills required, making it an ideal tool for beginners who want quick and impressive results.
Step 1. Open the Gallery app.
Step 2. Search for and select your desired photo.
Step 3. Swipe up on the picture to view the available edit suggestions.
Step 4. Select Background blur (for example).
Step 5. Adjust the slider to change the blur effect (drag left to decrease or right to increase the blur).
Step 6. Tap Save. Then, tap either Save or Save copy.
Note:
- Suggestions may vary depending on the photo. You may see options such as Live effect (adds a live motion effect to the image), Background blur (adjusts the level of background blur), or Remaster (enhances image quality using remastering tools). In some cases, there may not be any available suggestions.
- When saving your result, selecting Save copy will create a new version of the photo while keeping the original intact. Even if you choose Save, which replaces the file, you can always revert to the original image later.

The Generative edit feature lets you easily move, resize, or remove objects in your photos to reshape the scene as you imagine it. Using intelligent tools, your Samsung Galaxy device automatically fills in the background and recreates missing details to make the result look natural. It’s a simple and creative way to adjust your photos with no advanced editing experience required.
Step 1. Open the Gallery app.
Step 2. Search for and select your desired photo. Then, tap the Edit icon (it represents a pencil).
Step 3. Tap the Photo assist icon (it represents stars).
Step 4. Outline or draw the object you want to add to the picture or move. You can adjust the size of the object if needed.
Step 5. Touch and hold the object, then drag it to a different part of the image, or tap the eraser icon to remove the object entirely.
Step 6. Adjust the slider at the bottom of the screen to tilt the image as desired.
Step 7. When you are finished, tap Generate.
Step 8. After reviewing the generated image, tap Done.
Step 9. To save your edited photo, tap Save copy.

- Contextual windows providing additional information about the intelligent feature may be displayed during the process. Take a moment to read the information, then tap OK to close any window that appears.

The Live effect feature can transform a simple photo into a short animated scene that feels more alive. It adds subtle motion to elements in your image (like hair, water, or background lights) to give your photo a dynamic, video-like effect. The available effects may vary depending on the photo you choose.
Step 1. Open the Gallery app.
Step 2. Search for and select your desired photo.
Step 3. Swipe up on the picture to view more details, then tap Live effect.
Step 4. Galaxy AI will generate motion effects for your photo. You may see a zooming, panning or swivel motion, depending on the image.
Step 5. Tap Save copy to save the newly generated video.
Step 6. Selecting Save copy will create a new version of the photo while keeping the original intact.
Note:
- Suggestions may vary depending on the photo. In some cases, the Live effect option may not be available.
- Once the newly generated file is created, the options Share and Set as wallpaper are also available to inspire your creativity.

The Portrait studio feature lets you transform a regular selfie or pet photo into an artistic portrait by applying different preset styles. It’s an easy way to give your photos a creative touch with just a few taps.
Step 1. Open the Gallery app.
Step 2. Search for and select your desired photo.
Step 3. Tap the Photo assist icon (it represents stars).
Step 4. Swipe to and select Portrait studio at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5. Select your desired portrait style, such as Comic, 3D cartoon, Watercolor or Sketch.
Step 6. Tap Generate. The results will vary depending on the portrait style you selected.
Step 7. Swipe left on the created portrait to generate another image.
Step 8. Tap Generate one more to create another portrait using the same style.
Step 9. Tap the Download icon (represented by a down arrow) on the portrait to save it to the Gallery app.
Step 10. You can select a different style as well. Swipe through the style options at the bottom of the screen, and select a new style.
Step 11. Tap Generate.
Step 12. When you're finished, tap Save copy.

Step 3. Tap the Photo assist icon (it represents stars).
Step 4. Swipe to and select Sketch to image at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5. Draw something on the photo.
Step 6. Tap Generate.
Step 7. Galaxy AI interprets your drawing and suggests a corresponding object.
Step 8. Tap Save copy.
Step 9. Selecting Save copy will create a new version of the photo while keeping the original intact.
