Note: Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version and device type.
The Galaxy Wearable app is the central hub for connecting and managing your Samsung wearable devices from your Galaxy phone or another Android phone. It lets you pair, customize, and control devices such as Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Fit and other compatible accessories in one place, including adjusting settings and installing updates. By using the app, you can take advantage of features that enhance how your wearables work with your phone, for example by tailoring notification settings, selecting watch faces, monitoring device status, and accessing special tools right from your mobile device.
Using the Galaxy Wearable app is especially valuable because it brings all your wearable management tools together, making it easier to keep your devices functioning the way you want without navigating multiple menus or apps. For Samsung Galaxy phone users, the experience can include additional features and deeper integration with the Samsung ecosystem, whereas on other Android devices some advanced options may be limited or unavailable.
If the Galaxy Wearable app is not available on your Galaxy phone, Android phone, or tablet, you can download it from an app store. Make sure to install the official, free version developed by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. from a trusted source.
You can install the app from either store, depending on your preference:
Note: Keep in mind that on Android devices some advanced options may be limited or unavailable compared to the Samsung ecosystem.
Galaxy Buds are designed to work seamlessly within the Samsung ecosystem, offering the most complete experience when paired with a Samsung Galaxy device. However, Galaxy Buds can also be used with other Android phones, including devices from different manufacturers.
To make pairing easier and improve compatibility with a wider range of Android devices, Samsung has updated the way Galaxy Buds connect to a mobile device for the first time. Instead of pairing through the Galaxy Wearable app, Galaxy Buds are now connected directly using the Bluetooth settings on your phone. This allows the earbuds to function as standard Bluetooth earbuds on any compatible Android device.
Once your Galaxy Buds are connected, you can use the Galaxy Wearable app to access available advanced features and manage supported settings. Some features may only be available when the earbuds are paired with a Samsung Galaxy device.
Before you begin, make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your mobile device. If you plan to use the Galaxy Wearable app to access additional features, we also recommend downloading and installing the app before pairing your earbuds. For more information about managing your accessories, see the Manage your wearable devices with the app section below.

To access all available features, connect your Galaxy Watch to your phone using the Galaxy Wearable app. Once connected, you can use the app to manage your watch settings and installed apps. Before you begin, make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your phone.
Note: If you already have a wearable device connected to your phone, the Start button will not display when you open the Galaxy Wearable app. Instead, tap the Menu icon, then tap Add new device.
The Galaxy Wearable app lets you manage your connected wearable devices from one place. From accessing device features to switching between multiple wearables, the app helps you control how your devices work with your phone.
Access your wearable device features
The Galaxy Wearable app lets you access and manage the features available on your wearable device, such as noise control options for Galaxy Buds or watch face customization for Galaxy Watch. Some features are available directly on the app’s home screen, while others can be found by tapping Earbuds settings or Watch settings.
Available features vary depending on the connected device. To discover all supported options, you may need to explore the menus or refer to the user guide for your specific model. However, two key features are common across compatible devices: using the Galaxy Wearable app to update your connected device software and changing the display name of your wearable device (detailed instructions for these features are provided in the following sections).
If you choose not to use the Galaxy Wearable app, you can still connect and control your Samsung wearable device using the Bluetooth or connected devices menu on your mobile device. Keep in mind that this method provides only basic functionality, and access to advanced features will be limited.
- On a Galaxy device: go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth
- On an Android device: go to Settings > Connected devices
- On an Apple device: go to Settings > Bluetooth
Managing different wearable devices
If you have multiple Samsung wearable devices connected to your phone, you can switch between them directly in the Galaxy Wearable app. The app automatically adapts its layout based on the wearable device you select, which means the interface may vary depending on the type of device you are managing.
Follow the steps below to switch between connected wearable devices in the Galaxy Wearable app:
Step 1. Tap the appropriate icon to display the device management menu.
Step 2. Use the menu to switch to another device or add a new wearable device.
Keeping your Galaxy Buds or Galaxy Watch up to date helps ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features. Software updates for your connected device are managed through the Galaxy Wearable app.
Note: If no update is available at the time, a screen with the message “Your software is up to date” will be displayed.
Once your Galaxy Buds or Galaxy Watch is connected, you can manage and personalize your device using the Galaxy Wearable app. One option available is changing the display name of your wearable device.
